The suite was gorgeous. Beautifully presented and very clean. The little fridge with milk and water provided along with bowl of quick grab breakfast options and fresh fruit was a lovely touch. I’d booked short notice and Liz was so accommodating.

Rooms were large and modern and well decorated. The biggest shower we had and they provided high quality the personal products to use. The Manager was a great young man who took care of everything and they provided a nice breakfast basket and some treats. I was pleasantly surprised by a room above a bar/restaurant, it was quiet and very clean.

We had a warm welcome by Laura the owner of the place. For a change it was nice to meet faces rather than keys waiting in the safe. The location was excellent, the atmosphere was very homely, the breakfast was delicious, prepared and served by the Laura. Without a doubt a good and pleasant hospitality experience. Next time we would love to stay again.

A walk on a winter night, Doune appeared to be a nice...

A walk on a winter night, Doune appeared to be a nice country town. Very tidy,no obvious litter lying around. For the size of the town,a lot of privately owned shops and businessess. As my business was out of town, I never seen much more! I will be sure to return, hopefully with more time to explore.

Lovely small friendly village, great walks and castle near hotel, was able to leave car at the hotel for a day. Plenty to see and do within a short drive. Buttercup Cafe was great, as was food at Woodside Hotel

Quiet village, not a lot going on.

Quiet village, not a lot going on. Has one big pub/hotel serving meals and drinks and a few small shops. Doune castle very close to this property also some good places to walk and run just around the village. COnvenient for Stirling and Dunblane and easy to get to outdoor walking areas if you have a car.

Loved Doune.

Loved Doune. It has the Castle even though when I visited the Castle was closed for renovations. About a couple miles out there is a monument dedicated to David Stirling SAS. I actually walked and never realised until on route that there was no actual paths so many a time I jumped in hedges to on coming traffic. Thankfully I was wearing bright yellow raincoat!. The must see is the cemetery/ruins of Kilmadock. Easiest route is A84 from Doune, pass the Antiques centre, pass through Buchany and when you see signs for Doune stables to the right - opposite is a footpath sign taking you down to the path that leads through the woods to the ancient cemetery - worth seeing. On the last day of every month people of the ROOK ( Rescuers Of Old Kilmadock) clean/tidy the grave stones and I managed to be there and speak to them. .

This hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. The breakfast was amazing and the meals in the restaurant were very nice. All the staff were polite and friendly. The room was very clean with a super bathroom. It was at the front of the hotel but we were not disturbed by any traffic noise. There is plenty of parking. As a base for seeing friends in this area it was ideal, we stayed for 5 nights and we will certainly be back. We would recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely loved this place. Very roomy and comfortable. Especially loved the kitchen and pleasant view out the large window. Places to walk and friendly helpful locals. Local attractions , Doune castle was really worth a visit , and the boat trip on the Lake of Menteith to the Abbey ruins with the history commentary from the guide was great . Could/should have stayed a bit longer.

It was easy to arrange, and communication was easy. We arrived and easily gained access to the property, and it was ideal for our family. It's so much better than a shared hotel room with everyone having their own space. It was clean and tidy, and all the amenities we required were there
