Lovely small town and well worth a visit.

Lovely small town and well worth a visit. The grounds of the Castle are excellent on their own and you could spend a day just there. The castle itself is fascinating and unique and a credit to the National Trust.

Really lovely, warm and welcoming little town that felt alive and "lived in". Lots of boutique shops, restaurants and pubs to suit every taste. There is a beautiful community owned and maintained garden and separate children's playground. The Castle is extremely interesting and you can fill a whole day exploring it and its surrounding buildings (and the National Trust cafe on site). The Watermill is really worth a visit. Lovely church too. Short walk to Dunster beach and station for the West Somerset Railway which runs steam trains regularly from Minehead to Bishops Lydiard. Walks in the surrounding countryside from the village.

Dunster is a beautiful old village with many interesting features. Not all, however, are wheelchair accessible. The Dunster Castle and gardens are lovely to walk around, but some steep paths and steps. NT provide a free scooter, which makes access much easier. I advise pre-booking as I believe they only have two. Minehead is 2 miles away, and Dunster Beach is 1.5 miles. There are buses to Minehead, Taunton and Blue Anchor Beach.

Pretty traditional English village.

Pretty traditional English village. The Castle is well worth a visit. Great location for both countryside and seaside exploring. Be careful if you want to eat out on a Sunday evening as few places serve food past lunch and none after 7.15pm.

It was BH Sunday & Monday, even so many of the charming shops & Galleries were open. The buildings are so pretty, some over 600 years old. The Cornmarket is in remarkably good repair & is a feature in itself. The Castle rising above the wooded hill, & overlooking the entire town, is an almost fairy tale landscape. Originally built in the 11th century it has been changed & updated by different owners through the centuries. It’s a beautiful place to visit

Booked hotel stay but was placed in a air b and b 10 min walk away from main hotel highly inconvenient no access on site to restaurant or food or facilities no maid service to clean room daily. No wi fi no facilities like iron hair dryer WiFi maid service basic clothes hangers lacking no iron or reception service which is what I paid for. The total cost of this provision was extortionate never again appalling

Beautiful hotel, situated right on Dunster high street a two minute walk from the castle. Our room was lovely, beautifully decorated with the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in! The owners were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. We don’t really eat cooked breakfasts so cannot comment on this but the coffee was delicious and so was the toast. Highly recommend this hotel.
