Eastbourne is a lovely town.

Eastbourne is a lovely town. Full of Victorian architecture and ongoing works to brighten the place up. The town is bustling with a variety of shops, a shopping centre, cinema, entertainment centre (axe throwing, shuffleboard, darts, beer pong) and independent cafe's and bars. The locals are so friendly and considering we have only been once before, certain places remembered us and we felt extremely welcome.

Eastbourne is a lovely mixture of gentle and vibrant . There are lovely walks along the seafront, and if you enjoy a good hike the South Downs are a bus ride away. There is a an exciting food culture here from, traditional fish and chips to comforting Italian,Greek and my personal favourite Indian. The Malalayam on Terminus road keeps me coming back to Eastbourne several times a year.

Some parts of the town centre are a bit run down.

Some parts of the town centre are a bit run down. However that is a common problem in many seaside towns. We use Hampden park for our two grandaughters. It is a pretty and free facillity. It would be nice if there was a free play park on the sea front. Had a nice meal at Bills and went to the cinema

Eastbourne is a lovely town with plenty to explore and see the tour bus is worth the 1hr round trip or as we did hop on and off to see the sights. Food plentiful and a large range to meet most people’s expectations.

Eastbourne is what one expects when thinking of a British seaside resort. A nice long promenade and pier. Good hotels and restaurants. A variety of shops. Theatres. Good surrounding countryside and places to visit. Good public transport.

Eastbourne is the best resort along the East Sussex coast.

Eastbourne is the best resort along the East Sussex coast. It has a long promenade to walk, mostly away from the traffic. The pier is free although looking a bit tired currently. There are still things to do in October and we enjoyed the extensive Land Train ride to the Harbour and Holywell. There is an Open top Sightseeing tour that is well worth doing and you can hop off at Beachy Head, Birling Gap or East Dean village - all worth doing. Eastbourne is clean and well kept, with garden areas along the front . It is a shame the famous carpet gardens have gone though. The council have started charging £1 for the toilets along the front. Very few seem to use them. There are free ones on the pier and at the theatre complex,. The Beach Deck cafe is really handy - near the seafront redoubt tower.

The Sheldon was very convenient to get to the seafront, the theatre and the centre of Eastbourne, as well as the beautiful Sussex downs, everything was within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly, the room we had was spacious and comfortable, and it was useful to have a lift to the ground floor. My partner loved the decor especially the ceiling in the breakfast room and the paintings and prints throughout the hotel gave a nice quirky ambience, some of the paintings were very good.

Friendly and helpful reception staff. All as expected. Hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade but I quite liked its 1980s vibe. Single room ok size with decent bathroom. Upper floors at rear have half decent views, over and beyond the car park. Guess you'd pay more for a sea view. Acceptable breakfast. Small charge for car park but allowed to leave car until 3pm on departure day. Good location for Eastbourne venues, shops and seafront.

This contemporary, light and airy B&B made a change from other places in Eastbourne. The staff were very friendly welcoming and the facilities, furniture and bathrooms were modern and clean. The B&B is in a great location close to the seafront, galleries, theatres, restaurants and bars and a short walk from the town centre.

The View is probably the most modern hotel on Eastbourne's Seafront providing a very good standard of accommodation. On a bed and breakfast stay the breakfast was very good in terms of variety, presentation and quality.

It was immaculate, I couldn’t fault the cleanliness. Staff were also so helpful and polite. Definitely the best place I have stayed in Eastbourne and I’ve tried most of the hotels along the seafront.
