Such a lovely stay in a great bed and breakfast in a perfect location in Northumberland. There is a handy coaching inn with a fantastic restaurant within walking distance The home is gorgeous and so lovely to see all the period features and furniture Fabulous quiet setting and a lovely room with such a comfy bed and fabulous bathroom with everything you need and more. Wonderful breakfast with fruits, yoghurts, juices and any hot items you would like. You must have the scrambled eggs. Great selection of artisan breads for toast We would highly recommend your accommodation and hope to see you again one day

We booked 4 rooms. The rooms were all very spacious with private facilities and comfortable beds. Breakfast was plentiful and beautifully prepared. Grounds are lovely, with outdoor seating to enjoy the tranquil setting.

The welcome at the Tankerville Arms was exceptionally...

The welcome at the Tankerville Arms was exceptionally friendly from arrival. The food both breakfast and evening meals were fantastic with lots of choices available. Rooms were very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent location for visiting the local attractions. Would strongly recommend to other visitors to the area.

Eglingham is very central to most points of interest in this...

Eglingham is very central to most points of interest in this area. Cragside, Craster, Alnwick Gardens, Holy Island and Bamburgh Castles all within easy driving distance and all worth a visit. We would especially recommend Gragside and Craster.

Superb food

Superb food All the staff were extremely accommodating nothing at all was too much trouble offered all the time to help us with bags up and down the stairs to our room Owner was amazing he went the extra mile and gave us a lift into Alnwick in his own car, history of the Duke of Northumberland who lives a short way away was a bonus from George (owner) Very interesting Thank you! Hotel and room Extremely clean Beer garden was lovely

Eglingham is a small village some 7 miles outside Alnwick...

Eglingham is a small village some 7 miles outside Alnwick with a pub. What more could you want for a base for exploring ! The only downside, which applied to all the places we visited, was that it was almost impossible to find places to eat without booking, either lunch or evening.

You definitely need a car to stay here and to explore the...

You definitely need a car to stay here and to explore the surrounding countryside but the village had a lovely community feel. My husband thoroughly enjoyed chatting to locals in the bar every evening. George and Mary who own the Tankerville Arms are the perfect hosts. Alnwick, Alnmouth, Chillingham Castle, Lindisfarne all a short drive away. Easy also to drive to Berwick and catch the train to Edinburgh for the day.

We stayed in the small village of Eglingham at The...

We stayed in the small village of Eglingham at The Tankerville Arms, the only pub. About a 20/30 Min drive in in both directions, one way to Banburgh Castle & lovely dog friendly beach & the other direction Alnwick Castle & town.
