The staff were amazing, there was no request they would no help with. I arrived early and they were able to let me check i in early at no extra cost. Every body who is working at the Roebuck wants to make your stay more enjoyable. The building is lovely and the ground are beautiful. Heating in the room was wonderful

You are made to feel welcome even before you get to the hotel with kind enquiries about what they can do for your comfort (and then fulfilling the requests). Nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is just amazing, the staff so kind and attentive, the food is sublime and the decor of the restaurant is just magical. The gardens are just superb and a main reason to visit, and the very extensive grounds are a delight. We’ll definitely be back!

    Staff pleasant food ok and beds comfortable, Rooms very poor, carpets need replacing, and rooms need upgrading. All common areas need upgrading in lounge area settees very worn with no support. Bar very poor no brandy or Scottish malt whisky

    The food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent. The carpet in the hallways needs replacing especially outside our room which was on the ground floor. Room was a good size and clean but they do need a bit of updating although please dont replace the beds as they are really comfy. We’ve stayed here numerous times and look forward to our next visit. Staff are very friendly so thank you.

    Large king-sized bed was very comfortable. Breakfast good. Hotel grounds spectacular. Staff very personable. Good pubs in the area for meals and drinks, particularly the Hatch Inn at Colemans Hatch but phone for a table if planning dinner

    Service was very pleasant.

    Service was very pleasant. The room was very comfortable,,particularly the bed. A very comfortable sleeping. Good to have comfortable areas just to chill if needed. The staff worked clearly as a team. They always checked that all was OK.

    This hotel is an ideal place to stay for visiting Ashdown...

    This hotel is an ideal place to stay for visiting Ashdown Forest. Everything winning the pooh related was a short drive away. I would say you would definitely need a car for getting around this area. The service from staff is exemplary and very friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and a good size. We had breakfast and dinner here and the food was delicious.

    I loved this area, and the bus can get you to the town and...

    I loved this area, and the bus can get you to the town and there's plenty to eat and explore in town BUT to get to the beautiful ashdown forest or forests/farms around, I would recommend having a car.

    Great for kids at Christmas. We were given a bag with Christmas puzzles and games, a Christmas hat and a letter to write to Father Christmas. There was a special post box for children to put it in. Lovely idea and a HUGE Christmas tree in the reception area. My 7 year old was completely entranced by the magic. Such fun! The swimming pool was great too. Good that the hotel allow children in the pool 9am - 12 and 3 - 6pm. They had noodles to play with. A nice warm changing area too.

    Used as an overnight stop, we arrived late and left early so can't comment on anything but the staff and our room, both of which were excellent. We slept comfortable and soundly. The hotel was in a small town, easily found with a good sized car park. There were no functions being held that day so it was quiet. Staff were friendly and we would definitely stay there again next time we make the same trip.

    Surprisingly good bar restaurant and hotel in a small town just south of London. Well located near the historic town center, shops, and brewery. The restaurant menu was definitely broader than traditional pub fare. The beds were very comfortable and the service was very good.
