Sarah and the rest of the staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. The bed was really fantastic, probably one of the best beds I've ever slept in. Even though the duvet was a double duvet (we like our single duvets in Scandinavia), it was still wide enough that we didn't wake each other up during the night. I recommend trying the evening platter with local delicacies one night, just remember to pre-order 24 hrs in advance. I would definitely stay here again the next time I come this way.

We booked this place last minute... It was a very pleasant surprise ! We came to the Lake District to explore hiking and cycling trails. The hotel is located next to the lake and every morning we enjoyed the serenity of the view. Very nice breakfast, especially muffins. Room is spacious and cleverly designed with plenty of storage space. Hotel has its own parking which was a big plus for us. We are definitely coming back!

Very cosy room (303) even had a little balcony. Breaky was delicious with plenty of self serve items and the a cooked breakfast of your choice. Restaurant food was pretty good as well. Fabulous lounge area with so many chesterfield lounges. Beautiful village

This was such a perfect hotel to stay in. The lovely little balcony with a view of the stream. The room was spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was excellent. It was also very easy to visit nearby towns and access to local walks.

The location was perfect, plenty of parking and the hotel was spotless. Breakfast was beautiful. The fact there was no one on reception when we got there did not matter at all, I loved how easy it was to check myself in with no fuss at all, the instructions on how to find the room were spot on. I will definitely be returning.

Welcoming and warm, this hotel is a historic treasure just down the street from the bookshop. The room was comfortable and homelike. The food is excellent, I ate breakfast and dinner all three nights I was there. Beautiful garden out back right in the River Rothy. I loved this place!

    I've been visiting Grasmere for many years. It's a beautiful village but is is sad too see so many premises vacant and some of the old buildings derelict. some of the Hotels have closed as well.

    Grasmere is like nowhere else - it’s absolutely stunning and has a tranquil feel to it that just makes you feel so relaxed and content when you’re there. Plenty of walks, scenery, cafes, restaurants, a decent pub and lots of beautiful hotels to choose from. The gingerbread shop is gorgeous! There’s so much to see here. I can’t imagine anyone not liking Grasmere! Simply beautiful.

    The area has lovely views and varied shops and restaurants in the village. There is a bus service to Windemere and Keswick. A garden centre is nearby with a café. We dined at Lewis's bistro which was lovley.

    Grasmere is one of the prettiest villages in The Lake District and is an idyllic place if you are lucky with the weather. There are interesting tourist attractions nearby as well as excellent mountain walking options. The resort benefits from a very good bus service, which gives additional options in nearby places so you can get out and about without using a car. Travel to Grasmere by train and bus is perfectly feasible so you do not need a car.

    Grasmere is very centrally located, so easy access to the other popular tourist area within the Lake District. And access to popular walks. It’s also has historical interests with the poet Wordsworth.

    Very busy place during the day.

    Very busy place during the day. There is a ginger bread shop by the church that has William Wordsworth's grave. This must be the busiest shop in Britain. From around 9.30 till 4.30 there is a queue. If you think I exagerate, go visit, and happy waiting. Some nice galleries, cafes and restaurants. All accomodation in Grasmere looks high end. Lovely scenery and walks. Once day trippers have left, place calms down and becomes more relaxed.

    What a wonderful last minute find. Location perfect in the pretty village of Grasmere. Parking onsite Hotel staff so helpful and friendly. Complimentary clotted Tea setup in dining area for all guests was a lovely touch and enjoyed on a winters afternoon Room large and beautifully styled

    The hotel is in a beautiful location, 5 minutes walk from Grasmere. We had a spacious room with patio doors leading onto a balcony with the river beyond . Breakfast was varied with lots of choice. The evening meal was lovely, but more like nouveau cuisine so small, delicate portions.
