The property is gorgeous, had lots of lovely little touches that just made the stay feel extra special. The fresh flowers on the coffee table, a complimentary mini bar, the bath salts and dressing gowns. It feels like a 5 star resort but with completely privacy. Hawkshead is small, but the walk to the pubs/shops is only about 4 minutes from the suit which is perfect. And if you wish to venture into bigger towns Ambleside & Windermere are a short drive away. I will be back ASAP it was the best UK overnight break I’ve had.

small well preserved village 20 minutes on the bus from Ambleside and Consiton, but there are lots of places to eat and spend your money. It is restricted in the centre to delivery vehicles only so it is pleasingly quiet. You can even charge your EV in one of the car parks. There are many walks directly from the village.

Hawkshead is a lovely village, with enough to do without being busy or over-commercial.All the places we visited were friendly, good value and authentic. Walks around the village are lovely, covering a range of abilities. Hawkshead also has historical importance, with its links to Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.

Hawkshead is a tranquil little village, it has quite a few bed and breakfast and pubs. There is nowhere better to stay than this little gem, if you’re just going for a meal there are plenty of places to go. Even if not staying there it’s well worth the visit. The trip across the ferry makes the holiday.

We stayed for 4 nights which allowed us to explore Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside and Hardnott pass/Roman fort which was stunning. We could have easily stayed another day or two, but 4 days and nights means we're keen for more another time. Hawkshead itself is a perfect spot as a base for exploring further afield in the lakes. It is a relatively quiet village after the tourists go home, but there are two lovely pubs which give just the right amount of life for us. If you're looking for a livelier evening scene, Ambleside ticks those boxes.

The property is set in a sweet area of the Lake District with views from all over the property. The cabin has all the facilities to make an enjoyable and relaxing stay and the treats left in the fridge and bottle of red wine were a surprise that was most welcome, and delicious, after a long day’s drive. David and Carey were so lovely to chat with and shared all their local knowledge about the surrounding areas for us to enjoy. They were wonderful hosts and we really had a lovely stay with them.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at YHA Hawkshead in the Lake District. We stayed in a tent which was clean and well-maintained. The common areas, including the showers, toilets, and kitchen, were also very clean. The kitchen was particularly tidy and well-equipped, making it easy to cook meals. Additionally, the views of the lake and mountains were stunning and added to the overall pleasant experience.

We planned on getting there late which with the staff free check-in is brilliant. There were loads of nice touches like some sweets and the tea tray. Nice room and the food from the restaurant downstairs was amazing one of the best breakfasts we've had in the Lake District hands down.
