Full of character with nice walks along the river and canal...

Full of character with nice walks along the river and canal as well as longer walks in beautiful countryside. It’s built on very steep slopes which makes it very attractive but you need to be fit! Rather busy with visitors and traffic. Lots of interesting shops to browse.

Hebden bridge was an attractive town and very easy to walk round. We came by train and used buses to travel as well as walking. We ate at shoulder of mutton twice and found it good value and tasty food. Bus to Haworth another attractive place with lots of history. Walk to heptonstall very steep but another pretty village with great coffee shop. Packed a lot into 2 days but enjoyed every minute.

Went to visit an elderly relative so didn't roam the area much but have been there on numerous occasions and love the atmosphere and the wonderful countryside. Many quirky pubs in the area and very friendly people. A great base for exploring.

One of the best places to go for walking,views and fresh air.. lovely to shop,lots of independent shops, enough bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from, it's a shame it' was quite in the evening and we had to dash around to find a place serving food after 8pm (pub) or eat in a restaurant ,but we did stay midweek.

Fabulous, picturesque former mill town snuggled between the hills and Rochdale Canal. Café and fine dining to suit all needs, including a good range of vegan choices across a number of establishments. Many galleries, art and craft stores, antiques shops and historic sites, with little sign of transnational chain stores to despoil the atmosphere. Among the finest independent live music venues at the Trades Club sited by the canal where hours can be spent in contemplative wanders. Close to unspoiled Heptonstall, burial site of renowned author Sylvia Plath and, in adjoining church yard, notorious executed 18th Century ‘coining’ gang leader David Hartley, as well as numerous walks through nature reserve land in the close by Mytholmroyd - also home to the famous traditional clog factory, Walkley’s - and Cragg Vale, following the historic routes taken by Hartley’s gang. For walkers, the sedentary, history buffs, connoisseurs of art and those seeking a range of holiday breaks, this is a wonderful destination!

What a fabulous pub in a fantastic town. We were on a walking holiday so were delighted to be able to stay in this lively pub. We were a bit damp after some good Yorkshire rain and were given a heated airer to help dry out our stuff. We then had a fabulous dinner. Great atmosphere in the pub! Breakfast the next morning was also lovely and we were able to get a late check out so we had time to explore Hebden Bridge. All in all a great stay.

Great Communication from host. Beautiful home, the kitchen especially. Has everything you need. We were staying for a trip to meet people in Hebden Bridge, so the location was absolutely perfect. There is a bus stop directly outside of the house and it was a 2 minute journey to the town centre.

Centrally located with allocated parking which is important in Hebden Bridge because parking is at a premium. Spotlessly clean and the hamper pack was a great idea. Felt safe. Staff were very helpful on arrival because I didn’t read instructions.
