A wonderful country pub with cosy accomodation, welcoming staff, and a tasty breakfast. My immaculate room looked freshly renovated and had everything required for a very comfortable stay. The Red Lion Madley is also well-located for day trips into Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, and Abergavenny. A huge thanks again to the team for a lovely weekend stay!

We didn’t have breakfast, ate in the restaurant twice and food was lovely. We stayed there especially to go to Violette Szabo museum so position couldn’t have been better, the grounds were nice and lovely views.

A lovely place to switch off from every day life. The hot tub was amazing, stayed warm till the morning, needed 5/6 bags of Logs, not Kindlin. The animals where an added extra. They were really friendly and curious. The host was also really attentive and helped with all our needs.

Lovely spacious house, only a 15 minute walk to the centre of Hereford. Hosts are lovely and friendly, there was plenty of communication. The kitchen has everything you need. Large bottles of shower gel, shampoo & conditioner are provided. We were able to get the keys from a lockbox on arrival, which was really convenient. It's a nice quiet area with a takeaway (Wing Sing) only down the road. Matt & Cassie provided a folder with all the information you need, for things like heating and bins etc. There were books & games in the dining room also. I highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Hereford.

The Cathedral interior is a gem of national heritage.

The Cathedral interior is a gem of national heritage. The exterior needs a lot of work. A pleasant walk around Cathedral Close but driving in and out of Hereford is to be avoided during rush hour. My Satnav became demented trying to find the Aylestone Court Hotel from the A49 out of Monmouth.

Really lovely old town centre and church.

Really lovely old town centre and church. Easy to walk around and plenty of one off Shops. Downside in late September at night it is very quiet and not easy to find a really nice place to eat for a special meal.

The cathedral is amazing!

The cathedral is amazing! There are so many streets with wonderful shops and no cars allowed! My favourite being the walk to the cathedral with the bunting and the gallery shop at the end with wonderful craft pieces to buy. The cider museum is great too!

I spent a weekend in Hereford and really enjoyed the experience. The town is lovely, with great options for food and plenty of natural surroundings to explore. I especially appreciated the local eateries and the chance to enjoy the nearby countryside. It was a relaxing and refreshing weekend getaway.

I was there to visit family so I didn’t spend a lot of time...

I was there to visit family so I didn’t spend a lot of time exploring Hereford as I have visited before. However I like Hereford as it has a lot to investigate especially the Mappa Mundi and the Cathedral. There is a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes. We had a curry on the first night a family meal in the Cosy Club and on our last night we had fish and chips from a Chippie just round the corner from where we were staying. It was very good with fish freshly cooked.

Lovely old buildings and fantastic cathedral. Had a great meal in a Thai restaurant. For a bank holiday , Hereford was surprisingly quiet. The Black Lion and The Orange Tree pubs are places to return to. Hereford centre itself was not very clean and tidy. I was quite surprised and disappointed

Very kind and helpful hosts who provided a range of information and were happy to assist with various things. The guest house has a very welcoming layout, with the spacious breakfast room right next to the entrance. The room was a good size and very clean. Nearer to Hereford town centre than it seemed on the map, so that was a bonus.

The room was spacious with high ceilings, excellent radiator heating, clean. The bed was large and comfortable. The wi/fi was free and easy to access. Lots of parking space. The hotel is very quiet at night. There is a bar and bar food in evening if required. Only ten minutes deive from Hereford with a bus service if required.

Great location for getting into Hereford town centre. Even though the lodge is on the main road our garden room was very quiet. Very clean and comfortable room with everything you needed. Lovely breakfast served by friendly staff. We were only there for two nights but would stay there again.
