I was upgraded to the Chapel Room so called as it used to serve as such to the previous owners of the property The Sisters of Mercy . What can I say … a one of a kind room . The Cookie Jar possesses that understated surety of class which is self contained but evident throughout the fabric of the building and the professionalism of the staff .

Very friendly welcome from Dean and Katie. I felt very well looked after. Room was exceptional value, clean and nice sized bathroom. Great location for my work. I would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed the good breakfast and the very cosy beds. Thanks for the supply of tea in the room. The bathroom was well equipped and quite big. The pub is lovely. Surprisingly our room was quiet, inspite of beeing right next to a busy junction. We really appreciated that.

Spacious and newly decorated in peaceful marine tones. Separate entry so not walking through pub to get in and out of our room, more private. Close to great restaurants and pubs, had really good fish and chips at Carlos, see photos. Close to Alnwick castle where early Harry Potter movies were filmed, but go see it for the centuries of history. And watch the broom riding lessons.
