Didn't really see much of Hitchin but the bits I did see were interesting. Would like to return to explore more. We ate in a great restaurant on the Sun St. Chic at the Priory were great. Unfortunately the weather let us down.

We stayed one night but we had time to visit a great Turkish restaurant in town and the next morning we had coffee near the church, which we also visited. The town is full of history and so interesting.

A pleasant old market town, retaining many buildings of architectural interest, with good shops, pubs and places to eat. Convenient location for getting to and from other places, in particular by train, such as London, Cambridge, Peterborough and places in-between.

I knew nothing about Hitchin having booked an overnight stay there purely because of its location to an event I was attending nearby. Very pleasantly surprised. Very compact, old town with lots of interesting buildings dating back several hundred years. Stayed right in the centre in the Sun Hotel which was great value for money and very relaxing and perfectly located.

Hitchin is a really nice place.

Hitchin is a really nice place. The church is gorgeous and looks so good at night. The local people are really friendly and even the teenagers have manners. If you like walking or running, there is a lot of open space nearby and some nice little trails of you prefer biking. There are a lot of little boutique shops too selling things you wouldn't find on the Internet of you are looking for gifts. Hitchin is a good base of you are wanting to go to Duxford for the air show, or if you are wanting to explore Royston and the Templar cave. There is a mix of architecture spanning the different periods in history too. If you are hungry, there is a wide choice of places to eat from restaurants to take aways. The Bodrum does fantastic kebabs, and the Town Frier has proper seaside fish and chips. The Sun Inn does some really nice food, and the bar is really quiet, but the staff are first class. I've not had time to explore everything due to only being here through work, so I can only describe where I've been, but I love what I've seen.

We were in Hitchin because I had very happy childhood there. The Sun Hotel was very well regarded. My sister had her wedding reception there. Now the hotel is run down and our room freezing. There was snow on the ground in the morning. Many internal doors up to our Room 7 looked like a hatchet had been taken to them. Greenking is a big very wealthy company. This let's you down. I was thinking of having a school reunion with you but the quality of the hotel is just not good enough. Jim Watt OBE MA FIMC.

Needed a last minute place to stay in Hitchin. This room was a great choice, with friendly accommodating pub landlord who checked me in and showed me around. The location was convenient, 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk from the centre. The flat is the original over the pub flat used by the landlords family so there is a home from home aspect to it, the bedroom was cosy and homey with a kitchen to cook your own food and large family bathroom.

The hotel is very close to the centre of Hitchin and has lots of parking space. The location is interesting with a bit of history. It seems to be popular for seminars, recruitment fairs, etc. The hotel staff are welcoming and helpful.

Great value, lovely breakfast , good wifi and pleasant staff - a different place to stay. The en-suite rooms are equivalent to a travelodge, but overall a much nicer experience. Was good I could park close to my room.
