We have stayed here several times on the way down south with our dog. It is a really reliable spot with lake views and service station facilities right next door. A McDonalds and a Costa is all we need. The staff are just lovely and really care that you have a comfortable stay.

Very comfortable and a great location. The breakfast was fabulous too. But above all, the hostess Linda at the reception was super-friendly, offering numerous tips on where to visit. In general, I was warmly received by everyone at the reception. I would gladly return to this hotel.

Fabulous apartment in a lovely little street in town. Beautifully decorated and everything was immaculate. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in! Louise was a fantastic host - prompt communication (even though we booked last minute), detailed instructions about parking, milk and biscuits left for us on arrival. We couldn’t recommend this apartment enough.

Kendal is a great location between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. It is large enough to have a lot of choices of restaurants, grocery and shopping options. The Castle is a lovely walk, it's beautiful, and has lots of walking paths and green spaces for dogs as well as people. We loved the markets and the local towns around, as well.

Kendal is a great base for lake district trip. While ambelside would be more central, Kendal is more affordable. There are also a number of places to view in kendal like castle, abott museum, levens hall etc.

Kendal is a beautiful and historic market town with lots of excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. It's got a great library for rainy days and there's lots of fascinating old alleyways and buildings to enjoy. We loved eating at the Brewery Arts Centre in the evening and also the brilliant Comida Spanish tapas cafe just down from the arts centre. Kendal is a great place to use as a base to explore the Lakes.

The location was quiet as it was hidden behind other buildings. There were two rooms per floor and three floors. The stairs were winding and narrow so not appropriate for seniors unless in good physical condition. I am over 75 and the stairs made me quite nervous. The kitchen was well equipped except I prefer perk or drip coffee. Folks from out of the UK may not understand the term 'cottage' as this is a three story building.

We really enjoyed a visit to Levens Hall nearby, famous for its topiary garden. We would like to have visited Sizergh House as well, but didn’t have time. Kendal’s great owing to its proximity to these historic houses and to Lake Windermere.

Everyone working in the hotel is so polite and helpful. The chefs are amazing and produce incredible food for the prices. Reception gave me a free room upgrade to a suite with the most amazing view. I recently stayed in a Bristol central hotel that cost x3 the price and it wasn’t nearly as nice. This was my second stay and I’ll definitely return. Thank you Team Greenway ❤️
