We wanted to spend New Year in Scotland as our daughter and...
We wanted to spend New Year in Scotland as our daughter and family are moving to Australia in spring. Langholm may only "just" be over the border but we enjoyed (two) pipers at mid night and a marching silver band the following morning. The rivers flowing through the town were high as a result of recent rain and were an attraction for our grandson who took to collecting some stones to take away. The High St has a number of local shops, a Londis food shop and the Coop supermarket is about a 10 minute walk south of the house. Great communication with the host and she kindly let us in early to leave our bags before we met with friends. It's a lovely cabin, decent sized rooms, spacious and very cosy and supplied with everything you could possibly need.
