We were doing the Arran coastal way and the first 3 nights we stayed here. Buses were easy to get (if times a little limited on a Sunday) so we made it back in time each afternoon. Deer roam the village (don't feed them - if they get too tame they need to be culled) and there are seals in the bay. The walks in the area are good.

The buses were great but not as frequent as I would have liked - but glad they were available. Machrie Moore stone circles was my favorite spot - would be great if that was a regular drop-off and pick-up stop.

Lochranza is a beautiful, quiet, scenic location for a tranquil holiday. It is very laid back and you can do as little or as much as you feel like. There is plenty to do from walking, cycling, camping, taking in the history which includes the castle. There is a distillery in lochranza that I would recommend you visit. There are a few local places where you can sit and enjoy a pint and a meal and if you are up for it stay in the bar as locals and visitors are very friendly. You also have the calmac ferry port that services Tarbet you can use this to do a day trip. All in all a beautiful part of Arran

Lochranza is beautiful and pristine - much like all of Arran however you experience more of a wilderness vibe than you do at the larger settlements such as Brodick or Whiting Bay. There is plenty to see and do in Lochranza, with wildlife galore! We managed to spot some otters! The scenery is just breathtaking.

Lochranza sits in a gorgeous glen , with a very good distillery, an excellent eatery - The Stag Pavillion, need to book way ahead. a moody ruin on the coast, great walks spanning out and up into the hills or along the coast.

We spent two nights in the hostel in the double room (Queen size bed). The hostel was quite clean and the staff very friendly. There is a large kitchen with a lot of equipment to make your own meals, and the hostel offers the possibility to buy breakfast (granola, milk, yogurt, fruit, bread and jam, with vegan options) and a pre-cooked microwavable dinner (with a few vegetarian options), which was great as there are no shops in Lochranza.

Location was excellent in terms of north Lochranza Ferry although far from Brodick Ferry. The connectivity with public transport can be a challenge if the Bus service is missed or running late or any guest makes the mistake of not planning the travel timings as it is remotely far up north from East or West Coast. Spectacular sights of the Glens & Valleys and Lochs and of course amazingly close to the Castle

It was set in the most beautiful location standing alone from the main village in Lochranza. Despite being set apart it was a short walk to get around . The decor was very tasteful and luxurious, perfect to relax after a long cycle ..!!!!

Fantastic hosts, very welcoming, and home cooking was wonderful. Rural location but easy walking to distillery and sights of Lochranza. Highly recommend for a short break to Arran.
