What a lovely place my mate and I shared a twin room it was spacious and very clean great pressure in the shower. We loved the bar downstairs really nice there is another bar attached to the building around the corner but I preferred the one in the main hotel. Breakfast was lovely and made to order I would highly recommend the mount for a couple of nights

Gary and Jennifer are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Backside Lodge is equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. Lovely warm welcome on arrival. Homemade scones, biscuits, sweets, bottle water, bottle of beer and a bottle of wine waiting in the lodge for use. A lovely touch to a perfect stay. The bed was so comfortable and the lide was extremely clean. Can't wait to go back.

I would love to say this place is horrid so as to allow us to be selfish but I can’t. It is truly a place to cherish. Both Charlotte and Josh are so welcoming, the cottage is immaculate, the setting bliss, the tranquility astounding. As you turn into the drive you are met by nature, then as you continue you see the farm in all its majesty.

Facilities were great. Kitchen equipment excellent,everything you’d need. The milk, tea bags, coffee, etc were very welcome after the long drive. Very comfortable clean bed. Loads of hot water for showers. Dog safe garden was excellent.

Central location to this beautiful little gem , bright and cheerful decor with happy quotes on the walls in the rooms and the bar . Malton has plentiful restaurants and bars with lovely shops to browse through. Went to a little micro brewery which was lovely lots of choice of ales and went for breakfast on the market square and sat in the sunshine .

I actually stayed in Old Malton.

I actually stayed in Old Malton. Malton itself is a small to medium sized town with no large shops or fast food outlets so would suit some people! Easy parking, free for three hours, plenty enough. I didn't eat in Malton, but, the eating places i did see looked quite good. (it was just the wrong time of day.

I’m coming to Malton 2 to 3 times a year to visit friends and family. I am extremely happy for the small town and the quality of shops and entertainment. Definitely I will continue visiting Malton in the future.

Nice little village but we were only there one night as it was close to the Eden Camp which we wanted to visit, so unfortunately didn't really get the opportunity to explore it as much as we'd liked to have done.

I was only there for one night as was performing at the Milton Rooms in Malton, an excellent venue for entertainment . The drive was a manageable distance and Malton itself just typifies the beautiful North Yorkshire area.

Malton is a pleasant town, although 'charming', the word...

Malton is a pleasant town, although 'charming', the word used on tv by a visiting Rick Stein, may be stretching it a little. It certainly has some very charming buildings, although a number of them are sharing townspace with more recent, bog standard town centre ones. The town is a good base for visiting the area, and we went to Nunnington Hall, Thornton-le-Dale, Pickering and Helmsley during our short stay.

Our favourite hotel in North Yorkshire beautiful surroundings and views. The room was very spacious with a wonderful large comfy bed lots of attention to detail such as a Dyson hairdryer and chocolates from the chocolate maker across the road at the Talbot yard. The hotel actually feels like you’re in a large country/town house for the weekend but with excellent staff who were friendly and helpful ( especially the barman and breakfast staff). Looking forward to another stay soon!

We arrived on Friday at the main old lodge hotel, On arrival on the Friday the lady on reception was very helpful, I explained Sunday we would be checking out and moving down to the old lodge as I’d booked an extra night and my partner had booked the original stay at the main hotel. She was very kind and said no need to move we will match the price and you can keep you room in the main hotel. The room was very pleasant the bathroom was huge!

Flowery bank was a great stay, we, last minute decided to go to visit family in Yorkshire and we came across this little gem. What a place, lovely. Very easy access couldn’t have wished for a better place, close to amenity’s and not far from York. Will definitely stay again
