We had an amazing stay at Hawthorns b&b. The hosts made us and our dogs feel super welcome. They gave us a lot of tips for sightseeing and made nice conversation. The room, bed, and shower were very good as well. We had a beautiful view of the fields from our room, and in the morning, we had a great homemade breakfast. We would definitely come back! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Located halfway between John O'Groats & Thurso, a hidden gem, Wayne the host is a wealth of information & could not be more welcoming. There are 2 pubs located 5 minutes away, we had dinner at the Northern Sands, excellent meals. Would have stayed longer if time permitted, if you're looking for peace & quiet Celtic Lodges is perfect. Highly recommend.

Fantastic living pods and the barbecue pod is Excellent. We met one of the owner he's a true gentleman highly educated and a well travel person, who you also can have a good crack with. We would definitely stay there again. Best place we stayed while in Scotland 10/10 well deserved 👏

Kacey is extremely friendly and very responsive. We enjoy our stay very much. Hospitality is top notch as she makes a point to to check in on us. It might be a bit to locate but Kacey gave good instructions. Follow it and you will get to this wonderful cottage. Breakfast is really sumptuous and big thumbs up. The selections are really one of the best we have ever had. Home made peanut granola is awesome!! Make sure to try it!!! Room is huge, clean and comfortable!!

Lovely little pods, clean, air fryer, shower and netflix, great for us snuggling up on a cold november night. Unfortunately we could only stay 1 night as part of nc500 trip but would like to return next year. Would highly recommend here.

The location was central to the ferry to the Orkneys, which is the reason we wanted to be in John O'Groats. The breakfast was lovely, fresh baked bread and cereals. The petting zoo was amazing and an additional perk. It was lovely to look out the window and see the animals

The proprietors Euan & Emma were excellent company and very attentive to guests' needs. The hotel had an excellent menu with accompanying wines, beers, spirits, if required. The hotel also had an extensive range of locally-produced spirits. The accommodation was excellent and well-equipped. The only down-side was the lack of TV reception - although being without TV was somewhat of a blessing!

This place is a little gem. If you want a spiritual retreat full of candles and incense in a quiet location, then this is for you. With no Wi-Fi, this is a place to come and escape. And not one touristy picture of a Highland cow to be seen - what a joy! The owner Fred, is a breath of fresh air. Loved the spacious rooms and very comfy king size bed. The property is just across the road from the footpath to Loch Mey with its bird hide. Great for birdwatchers.

Very good small hotel very convenient for the Castle of Mey and the NC500. Very welcoming hosts who went out of their way to make our stay a happy one. Comfortable room with everything you need and tasty home cooked food both in the evening and at breakfast. Loved the beef stew with puff pastry top! Lovely, cosy well stocked bar next to the restaurant where you can while away the evening.

The house was perfect, very well equipped, and very comfortable. It has everything you need. Situated in a quiet location with stunning views, including Castle of Mey, Orkney, and Dunnets Head. We also enjoyed the beaches and coastal walks. It's an ideal location for a relaxing holiday. The house is just a short drive to John O Groats and Thurso.
