This is a stunning, modern hotel which has recently opened. A lot of thought has gone into the decor and furnishings which are very tasteful. We stayed in a beautiful bedroom with a gorgeous en-suite bathroom. The large double bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. It was served in the conservatory overlooking a delightful garden. Hospitality was first class as all the staff we encountered at Dewars were friendly and attentive.

Heavenly spot, perfectly located for exploring the North York Moors and seaside. Incredibly well-kept, beautiful grounds. Sally is a wonderful host, sharing her knowledge of the area to help steer guests in directions they're interested in. Scrummy breakfasts with produce from her garden and hens.

A fabulous place to stay in Pickering. My room was extremely comfortable with good facilities and bathroom. Luxurious linen and large towels with daily servicing of the room. The hostess couldn't be more friendly or hospitable, welcoming you as you arrive with a lovely pot of tea and biscuits and providing you with a cool drink when you return after a long hot day of sightseeing. Nothing is too much trouble for her as she takes great care of her guests. The back garden is a lovely restful and pretty retreat in the afternoon/early evening. The off-street parking situated inn the house grounds is a real bonus and I was also able to leave my car there after I checked out while I went to visit Pickering Castle. Breakfast is a real treat with lots of yummy options and a scrumptious cooked to order hot meal.

We received a friendly, warm welcome by the owners. Our room was heated and cosily lit on arrival. Breakfast was discussed and planned with our specific requirements catered for. Comfortable bed with luxurious crisp white cotton linens - absolutely wonderful! Soft generous towels. Welcoming touches everywhere. The whole property is decorated throughout with character and style. We only stayed one night but savoured every lovely moment in this beautiful property. We will be back as soon as the opportunity allows!

It was well located for Pickering Helmsley the York Moors or...

It was well located for Pickering Helmsley the York Moors or Whitby and coastline. We ate at the Fox and Hounds and the Blacksmith Arms in local villages and had a drink at Middleton Arms. Helmsley was very well decorated for the Christmas period.

Middleton is just outside of Pickering but well related to...

Middleton is just outside of Pickering but well related to the North York Moors and Whitby. Nearby is the North York Moors Railway and the services and facilities in Pickering are very good. We visited Whitby Abbey and had fish and chips from a lovely little local fish shop Excelsior Fisheries in Staithes would highly recommend.
