Such a lovely traditional Scottish town with great little local and varied businesses. A friendly town for dogs and people. Beautiful countryside on the doorstep with some great dog walking areas on the doorstep. We loved it so much we’d like to move there!

Moffat is a good location for exploring the town and surrounding area. Plenty of eating places and wee shops to wander the high street. Walks, cycling, golf and fishing near. Playparks for children. Can get bus to Hamilton or Glasgow or head south. train station nearby goes to Edinburgh. Lots of accommodation options.

It's a pretty country town, once a spa, set in deeply rural Southern Uplands, with good hill-walking a few miles away. There are a variety of shops, mainly local, some touristy. It's a good base for exploring a relatively unfrequented part of Scotland.

We only had chance for a short walk around the town but what...

We only had chance for a short walk around the town but what we did see looked good, bars, shops restaurants etc. It was easy to walk into Moffat from the guest house and is within easy reach of main roads leading to other towns.

Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of...

Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of England to the Isle of Skye and it was a perfect location. Moffat has a good mix of shops and pubs, we ate at the bull which was very nice. The surrounding country side is dramtic and forms a great back drop.

Excellent location within Moffat, plenty of parking within the hotel grounds. Room was decorated to a high standard, wardrobe etc. although a moderate size. Equipped with free drinking facilities, TV, and en-suite with liquid soap & shampoo + towels. Staff we met were very pleasant and informative. Lovely breakfast and excellent rear garden area, not overlooked, to enjoy a drink and the evening sun.

Brilliant staff and owners can't do enough for you, rooms was great and very clean. Had breakfast which was superb and kept us going all day. If your a biker visiting you wont find a better place to stay in the whole of Scotland, everything you might need is catered for. Moffat is a cracking little town in a beautiful location. Will definitely be back.

For many years we have used Moffat as our first stop point on trips to Scotland. We have now found our favourite B&B to stay at.George and Elena were perfect hosts. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was great. They have even managed to introduce a bit of Dubai into the guest lounge….the TV was massive.

Young staff team were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hotel restaurant and bar recently refurbished, live music in bar was pleasant without being intrusive. Meals excellent. Car parking to rear of hotel ideal. Hotel central to main street - Moffat is a charming small town.
