Home to home setting with much more comfortable bed! 😉 We loved the breakfast! Bit of an everything.. The location is perfect, the beach is just down the road, one of the evening just popped down to watch the sunset. The host Jen and Simon were fantastic! Very friendly. The place is clean, the bathroom was huge with fantastic decoration. When I booked The Clubhouse for some reason I thought there were a double and 2 single beds in the suit, but when we got there there was 2 double beds.. We are a family of 4, and our 2 kids got used to sleep in separate beds.. When I asked for an extra matress my hosts were amazing and they gave us an extra matress for no extra charge!! That way all nights were great. 2 of my children have been asking me when are we going to return… I am sure we will.

We arrived well after mid-night and the wonderful lady who worked there, stayed up for us, arranged some wine for us, took our orders for breakfast and then walked us up to the room. All with great warmth and friendliness, as if it was completely normal to have guests arrive so late at a small town hotel. We had arrived slightly embarrassed, but felt genuinely welcome. Thanks again for that.

During an overnight trip to visit Inverness/Loch Ness and Culloden Battlefield, my friends and I were looking for a geographically convenient place to stay. We were booking at the last minute (during high season in the summertime) and weighing a small handful of options, and we could not be happier that we stayed at the Glen Lyon Lodge with Helen. Because Helen has recently begun running the B&B, there are few reviews to speak for what a lovely experience she offers. The rooms in the house have been lovingly refurbished to be charming and comfortable. We booked the Double Room with Private Bathroom and the Superior Double or Twin Room with Garden View, and the latter was especially nice because it included an adorable sitting area. Everything was clean and fresh, the towels were soft, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom products were a local treat. Helen leaves homemade shortbread on the tea tray in each room; in fact, the house smelled delicious and inviting when we walked in. She also provided a folder to each room containing helpful information about the area. The entryway area also offers various brochures of interest about the local community, from nearby distilleries to a local cinema festival. Nairn itself was very charming and the Glen Lyon Lodge is conveniently positioned to walk a few minutes and explore the town and shops. We enjoyed dinner at the Bandstand and strolled down to the beach afterwards to get a glimpse of the North Sea. The town and scenery won us over and we were all a little sad to leave Nairn the next day. As a consolation, Helen's full Scottish breakfast was delicious and the homemade granola and sourdough are not to be missed. Helen is a genuinely kind and attentive host who made us feel welcome and comfortable. I highly recommend the Glen Lyon Lodge B&B and would happily return!

When you find a home baked bread upon arrival, and a fridge filled with breakfast amenities, you know you ended up in a very good place. Mano’s friendliness and hospitality is top notch. We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen, and cuddled in the sofa. Beds are excellent, and the neighbourhood is quiet. Even the dog felt immediately at home. Thank you, Mano, for taking such good care for us.

A really beautiful old hotel and spa right on the most incredible beach. Fantastic spa and sauna and you can go for a cold dip in the sea afterwards! Delicious food and lovely cosy lounge full of armchairs with views of the sea. We absolutely loved it and will definitely go back for another break again. Perfect in every way, thank you!

I chose Nairn just as somewhere close to Inverness before onward travels - but what a surprising gem! The beach was white sands, sea front forests and lovely spa hotel at the Golf View. The place I stayed still had the Scottish charm with log fires. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nairn itself, a small town with a lovely beachfront and good local walks. The town centre itself is a bit 'tired' but that can be said for most towns, cities these days. What I would say is you do need your own transport. We relied on public transport so quite limited in accessing further afield.

Lovely little city.

Lovely little city. A lot of take aways, shopping options, churches and pubs/restaurants. And the beaches are incredible! Lovely food and drinks at Bandstand restaurant, James's ice cream is a must, just by the beach btw. We had a picnic on the beach at sunset, visited multiple pubs and restaurants, enjoyed walks. Secret beach is lovely and you can spot delphins!

Weather was glorious and provided a great opportunity to visit the two beaches, harbour and town centre. Great small cafes on sea front for food, soft drinks and ice cream. Excellent water park for children and plenty of play equipment in local parks. Two bowling clubs, swimming pool and fitness centre, plenty of opportunities for walks in and around the area.

Our stay in 1645 Inn was the best in our whole Scottland trip in April :) the owners are wonderfully nice people, the food in the Pub and the breakfast in the bistro are delicious. It was such a shame that we only stayed one night! A big thank you for such a warm welcome and the talks and spontaneous whiskey tastings in the bar 🥃 We will never forget your hospitality and will definitely come back if you ever are in Scotland again! A beautiful large B&B that was a former home to a wealthy family. Large rooms. Great bedroom. Marvelous dining room and an amazing breakfast. The parts of the residence we were able to access was always warm. Our hosts were very welcoming and provided us with excellent advice on what to see and do around this part of Scotland.
