The hotel was very close to a couple of Roman sites, the remains of a bridge over the Tees and a fortress on Dere street, both of which I had a look at. The village of Piercebridge is also very nice looking. The restaurant in with the bar was good, with a traditional character. I had the beef stew with mash and a dumpling, which was excellent. The breakfast was served in their Riverside restaurant which was nicely decorated. There was plenty on offer, with the option of ordering cooked food as well, which I didn't take. I filled myself up nicely. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the room was warm and nicely furnished, the wifi worked well.

Everything. We stayed for 18 days over December and February, so we left and came back as we were staying as our Son lived near by but his house was not big enough to stay. The staff were top notch with there duties, friendliness and professional appearances. Sue, Carl, Barbara, Cathy , Vince along with the others treated us like Family. Location in the middle of town, food and room service we would not fault. Yes we were there along time but our impression did not change. Sorry I forgot Marie. Nothing was any trouble. A credit to the Mercure group.

Mount Pleasant Cottages are truly fabulous. Lauren has thought of every detail to make staying in the cottages perfect. We had travelled over from Australia and met our best friends and family at the cottages. Each family was able to have our own space whilst being able join together. Richmond is close by and was great to show our daughters an beautiful English town. The cottages are incredibly luxurious our teenage children all having the luxury of their own bathroom.
