We had a perfect stay from check in. We were welcomed by Nicky and shown to our lovely accommodation. The rooms in the lodge building were spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern with a very powerful shower. Our evening meals and breakfast cooked by John were exceptional. The hotel is in a quiet location with countryside views and has plenty of free onsite parking.

We were in the area for one night and were delighted to find this gem! We live in Germany so staying in a country pub/hotel is always a treat for us, and this did not disappoint. We have 2 little dogs who were very welcome in both the pub and the room (and were even given treats and a cheeky sausage by the wonderful staff!). Our check in was smooth and we were able to book a table for dinner with ease. The staff were all super attentive and engaging. The room was comfortable and was everything we needed - even if the bed was a tad small, it still provided us with a solid nights sleep. However, without a doubt, the pinnacle of this stay was the food!! It was EXCEPTIONAL! And this is not exceptional for a pub, it was exceptional compared to anything! The duck was genuinely one of the best cooked and tastiest we’ve ever had! We’ve already recommended it to people and we are seeing how we can visit again on our next visit. Whether you stay for a night or not, the food HAS to be tried! Book a table and thank us later!

Easy to access the beach and wild lands behind.

Easy to access the beach and wild lands behind. Central Northam village is a super traditional old Devon village overlooking amazing views of Westward Ho beach and Bideford Bay. The surrounding edges of Northam are more suburban bungalows and about a 10 min walk to the beaches - a very peaceful place to stay and quiter than Westward Ho or Bideford down the road.

The beach was great & the waves was great if you surfed, not ideally for swimming When the tidy was out the beach was lovely & flat & not rocky Parking at the beach is £8.00 a day or £21.00 a week
