We only came for a long weekend to visit family, so we did not spend a lot of time in Prestwick Town Centre. We did take cousin's dog for a walk (or she took us) past the golf course along the headland and back along the beach to the ice cream shop just off the beach. We had a lovely meal in the Italian restaurant Vito's on Main Street with family which was 5 mins walk from Gardiner Cottage where we were staying. My husband had lasagna and my mother in law and I had chicken in a mushroom sauce - both delicious!

We only visited Prestwick as we drove our daughter and grandsons to the airport to catch a plane. It was a long drive so my wife and I decided to stay overnight. Didn't see much of Prestwick but next day we visited Ayr, which was quaint in parts with some good shops.

Prestwick is really nice place to visit.

Prestwick is really nice place to visit. No 9 retreat is in a perfect place to walk to the shops and eating places. The beach was great plenty of parking. The private parking at no 9 retreat is a huge bonus.

The apartment was lovely, with everything we needed, beautiful view over the golf course, and a side view of the sea.It was just a few minutes walk to the town centre. The only negative was we could not get hot water for a bath on the Saturday when it was fine on the Friday, so had to use the shower in our friends room, which wasn't a problem. We would absolutely book it again

We like the cleanliness of Prestwick, the selection of shops and the cafes and restaurants, the park with swings etc for children. The lovely clean beach and the walk along the beachfront which has seats to sit on where you can sit with a coffee or sit in and have a coffee with the great views across the water to Ailsa Craig and Troon and you can also see the planes that have departed from Prestwick airport.. There are also public toilets to the side off the cafe. The beachfront has a large grass area which has a large play area with swings and chutes etc. Also you can go along to the back of the airport to sit and see the planes coming in and taking off from the airport. There is also the golf course in Prestwick and it’s close to Troon golf course too.

Lovely quiet, traditional Ayrshire town.

Lovely quiet, traditional Ayrshire town. Good cafes and restaurants. Easy road and rail access to other centres and tourist attractions, such as Culzean Castle and Alloway. Scott’s in Troon excellent for a special dinner and The Lido in Prestwick main street, a lovely spot for lunch. Barassie golf course good value for a day ticket. Accessible by train from Prestwick.
