Found this real gem by chance but what a find. Couldn’t find any fault in this hotel. Our room was beautiful. We ate both breakfast and evening meal on both days of our stay and the food was fantastic. For us what made this stay even more amazing were the staff. Will; the f&b manager was amazing and so attentive. He really couldn’t do enough for us. The young girl working in the restaurant was fantastic too.

It was in a lovely pretty small historical town of north wales. every detail had been thought of and in new condition. The hot tub was amazing and extremely clean and well maintained. we even got to feed baby lambs on Easter Sunday brought to see us by the owner.

A really handsome and interesting town - with good historical sites, restaurants and views, even from the centre of the place. The Clwydian Hills, just outside, are spectacular, and often missed by the hoards speeding down the A55 to Eryri.

An attractive town. Lovely mix of architecture.

An attractive town. Lovely mix of architecture. The pretty centre square has parking, shops, cafes and St Peter’s Church ( though that is currently closed for renovations). Roads lead downhill in various directions, one to the river with a good park. The area near to the former Castle is especially nice. You can stroll in the castle grounds and visit a very old timbered house near there, though it’s only open Wed-Sun. The Craft Centre is an interesting modern building on the outskirts, with quality gallery, crafts, shop, cafe and free parking. Two large supermarkets. The Clwyd Ridge overlooks the town and is a lovely place to walk with far-reaching views. The carpark for a ridge walk is high up so makes the prospect far easier!

Ruthin town is a lovely old market town, full of character and a good base for exploring the area. Lovely motor museum in Llangollen with lovely walks along the canal to Llangollen town and Horseshoe falls.

Beautiful place, so interesting and worth a visit. Lots of places to eat and drink too. Fascinating history and people very helpful and friendly in all of the places we ate. Jacques especially was a wonderful find.

Amazing historic Castle converted to a hotel a number of years ago. Right in the centre of the town, easy parking in the grounds. Beautiful grounds with peacocks. Very friendly welcoming staff. Room was large and bed very comfortable. Probably in need of some decoration/updating but didn't affect our overnight stay

The venue was perfect for the family wedding. Staff were very helpful. Rooms are very clean and all facilities provided. The town of Ruthin is a lovely little town and easy to find everything you need. A nice Weatherspoons and a few restaurants in town and a lovely family run coffee shop. Highly recommended to anyone thinking of hosting a family event.

It was so well situated for our event at Ruthin Castle. The room was really nice, staff very helpful, and a very smart Wetherspoon's downstairs serving good food and drink. One bonus is that you are not pressured to get up early for breakfast before the 11am checkout like other hotels. It is served until noon, so we got a much needed lie in! This is a smart place to stay - not your average Wetherspoons by far. We stayed one night on 14/10/23

The location of the property is excellent and has easy access. The car parking is limited but there was still room for 2 motorbikes. It is a 2 minute walk into Ruthin via the church yard which is a lovely town. The apartment was very spacious and was just what we expected having previously stayed in a different apartment last year. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and bedding and towels were also provided.

The host Nick was fab n friendly. He made us feel welcome immediately and took our luggage to the cottage flat upstairs. The cottage was beautiful and exactly as described. Lots of amenities and short of nothing. Beautiful tiny village with coffee shops and Ruthin Castle. Definitely worth a visit. Tesco, co-op and B&M all within reach in the town.

Rustic castle in the middle of the north Wales mountains, beautiful location. Rooms are dated by today’s standards but suite the 16th century feel of the hotel. Food is great, staff friendly. There is also a spa and wedding venue here.
