Calder House Hotel looked to have great views out to sea...

Calder House Hotel looked to have great views out to sea with a fabulous beach. We experienced a tired run down establishment with a ‘couldn’t be bothered’ staff attitude. Dismissive and inattentive, we would never go back.

Great food in terms of quantity and quality, friendly and helpful staff, and a spacious room with a lovely view of the sea and beach. We travelled to various parts of Cumbria each day of our stay to make the most of the time we had there.

Nice small town, don't expect many shops or cafes/restaurants. The Seaside was very beautiful, easy to walk, with beautiful scenery, golden sand and big rocks. Keep in mind it looks like it's always windy there.

It's one of those places that if you were being selfish you wouldn't want to tell too many people about incase they get that busy you can't book in next time you want to go So between you and me the staff were fantastic the food was outstanding everything perfect and I don't say that about most hotels that we visit Definitely would go back and experience that lake District / Cumbrian hospitality again

Stayed at Keld Green House for a long weekend, had everything I needed for the stay. Good size room, modern and clean. Self check-in, but staff available via phone at the hotel if needed. A communal kitchen with fridge was available which was handy for me. Some parking out front but plenty of on-street parking around too. Couple of minutes walk to the beach.

The price was a big factor in booking, as I was only originally staying the one night. The hotel was close to the hills I wanted to walk. The bed was comfortable.
