We loved our stay. We received a very friendly welcome from the hosts Patrick & Jenny. The rooms were extremely comfortable and the facilities were excellent. The breakfast was exceptionally good. The hosts were simply wonderful, friendly people. We would highly recommend this B&B.

Food was wonderful Breakfast was huge and more tea coffee toast etc kept coming. Real milk in fridge in room for tea and coffees. (Plenty of tea bags etc too). There was flooding near by which meant some roads were closed - the owner/manager took time to check if peoples journeys were likely to be impacted and if they were - he suggested alternate routes - using maps on his phone.

Excellent communication with host, James. Stylish and comfortable accomodation - excellent vibe. Good internet - hot water on demand and well regulated heating. Selected provisions available on arrival - Thanks for the banana bread Victoria. This was by far the best accomodation we stayed at on our trip to the UK.

We were just blown away by the Studio, Katie had thought of everything you could need for a perfect getaway experience, and she was so helpful. The bed was the most comfortable we've found anywhere in our travels - we even found two hot water bottles, just in case (not needed). The breakfast provided was just right for us. Our dog, Grace, was in her element, loads of walkies and places to explore. Just wonderful!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Barn, it's a lovely property and a quirky layout which adds to the charm. Very clean and comfortable and with food basics such as bread, milk, tea/coffee, jams etc provided along with crockery/cutlery, toaster, fridge and kettle. We were able to park on the drive which is gated and feels secure. Dave and Lisa were really nice and helpful, but respectful of privacy so we felt comfortable and at home. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Hosts, Emma and Rob, were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Our welcome basket was extremely generous and thoughtfully done. It was a relaxing, rural retreat, just what we were looking for. Very central to seeing interesting places in the surrounding area. The accommodation was beautifully presented and every necessity was provided for. Comfortable and cosy. We would certainly recommend a stay here. thank you, Emma & Rob

The cross swords is a basic b&b they offer continental...

The cross swords is a basic b&b they offer continental breakfast if pre ordered. The room is nice and clean. The shower was great. The staff welcoming. A beautiful country village ideally located for Rutland water with near by falconry centre. Our friends stayed locally camping .we chose a warm dry comfortable room. The TV didn't work very well due to the atmospheric pressure of a rainy overcast weekend. In my opinion compared to the camp site fees. The cross swords is excellent value

We were visiting skillington over the Easter weekend to see...

We were visiting skillington over the Easter weekend to see family and wanted accommodation that was local. The cross swords is normally fully booked all year round but we were lucky enough to secure a room. We had a wonderful visit. The accommodation was perfect it met all expectations as did the location, setting, aminitites and friendliness, I would highly recommend The Cross Swords.
