Definitely the best possible place to stay at the Sky Island! Vicky is wholeheartedly nice and caring for her guests: from the morning talks, to home-backed cookies brought by her every day. The rooms are amazing, the food is delicious and we also recommend bringing swim suits as there is an intimate hot tub surrounded by flowers in the garden. The B&B is also a great place for setting off to explore the whole island.

The room was self-contained with beautiful views out the picture windows. The deck would be amazing in good weather but it rained our whole visit so we didn’t use it. Having a fridge was fantastic and everything you need was provided. There was even gluten free cereal in the cupboard! We didn’t leave the room from when we arrived at 5.30pm until we left the next day at 10am because we just loved sitting looking out the windows.

Just everything I think that the time of year we were there...

Just everything I think that the time of year we were there (April) made a big difference, less traffic and tourists. The roads area a little narrow and tight driving at times but still passable with care. The beach at Staffin was just great, we spent time just relaxing sitting chilling watching the waves crashing over the rocks. Bliss All the area around Staffin was just amazing, beautiful and serene.

Staffin is a lovely Trotternish township to base yourself in for some of the most stunning natural scenery on Skye. Easily accessible on the main bus route from Portree/Uig, you can be settled in beautiful, quiet scenery away from the bustle shortly after arriving on Skye; it has beautiful views across the bay and a range of accommodation options to suit everyone.

Better than the pictures on the inside.

Better than the pictures on the inside. Wonderful views including the Old Man himself on most days. Beach trail that starts from your front door - head down to the beach or settle down by the waterfall with a book. Short drive to Staffin for dino footprints and a lovely store with everything you need. Wifi worked perfectly. Easy to maintain during your stay as well.

Staffing is an amazing place.

Staffing is an amazing place. Lots of walks, views, nature and activities. A tiny dinosaur’s museum at just 5’ away. Just around the corner of the beach and waterfalls. Great views from outside the house and good internet.

The area around Staffin is so beautiful.

The area around Staffin is so beautiful. Very secluded so you do need a car. It’s very close to the Quiriang for hiking or just checking out the beautiful vistas. We used this as our home base for Isle of Skye and everything on Skye is easily accessible from the Staffin area. Things are all close distance wise, but driving is slow on the narrow roads so will take longer than you think and Apple Maps actually did a very good job at predicting the time for a journey. The roads were better than we expected but do keep an eye out for potholes! We cooked our meals but Portree has lots of options for restaurants and groceries. Staffin itself has a small convenience store and cafe with friendly staff.

While at Staffin we drove and/or walked to many of the local...

While at Staffin we drove and/or walked to many of the local and nearby areas and points-of-interest. No matter what we found the views unique and worth the effort, and, the people extraordinarily welcoming, helpful and happy to answer our questions about the town and its history. Being near the ocean the roads, hills and sidewalks offered very walkable options for our outdoor sojourns — just be sure to dress in layers as the wind can quickly change to feel of the day.

Driftwood Cottage is a beautiful and quaint place to stay just outside Staffin. It’s close to Quaraing and not a particularly long drive to Old Man of Storr, Portree, Fairy Glen and other sights. The property is cozy and was spotlessly clean. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was very well equipped. Clear instructions regarding operation of heating etc and recycling. Will definitely stay in this property again the next time we visit Skye.

The location was perfect, beautiful and peaceful, middle of nowhere - just the kind of escape I was looking for. The hotel itself was cozy and comfortable and so welcoming . The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and I’d definitely love to come back when I get the chance.
