I really liked Swanage.
I really liked Swanage. There is wonderful walking on the Coastal Path and across the fields, on walks that are accessible by public bus. The Swanage Railway outing to Corfe Castle and the Mining Museum is a very good day out. The town itself has everything that a visitor needs in terms of supermarkets and restaurants and pubs. There is an excellent fish and chips place (The Fish Plaice) right on the square by the quay. Try the Cornish Bakery, too.Guest review byKarenUnited States - 10.0

A delightful little historical seaside town with easy walking access to a range of interesting shops and plenty of coffee places. Lots to do for all ages including the railway, museum and pier. Lovely place for a weeks holiday, Swanage has many eating places, sometimes pricey. And the good ones are all reserved quickly. So you have to be quick! The kitchen had all the equipment we needed and more. In terms of location there were some nice places in Swanage, but the town needs a bit more investment and it would be nice if the architecture of some of the buildings complemented its surrounding a bit more. The staff were unfailingly welcoming, helpful and friendly. The sea view from room 41 was beautiful and we throughly enjoyed the unexpected bonus of being able to access the beach from the hotel garden (via steep but well-maintained steps) giving us the opportunity to walk into Swanage. There’s a couple of cafes there, they serve breakfast and lunch until 3pm weather permitting. You can walk along this coastal path into Swanage.
