This property is just gorgeous. Beautifully decorated, sparkling clean and well set up. Kitchen has everything you might need. We had a fabulous meal at the Collingwood Pub which is only a walk around the corner. There is also a very well equipped village shop.

We stayed at Wheatsheaf Hotel, and it was superb. Swinton is a very small, remote village in the Scottish borders. It appears on this, our first visit, to be sleepy and have little to do, but this was in January so it is probably not a true reflection. There are, however, a number of bigger towns within a reasonably short drive. so a car is essential to get about.

Beautiful location, garden was lovely. House was an amazing warren of interesting rooms for the kids to explore. Lots of sofas for lounging about in the evening. The kitchen was big enough to cook big dinners for everyone and sit down at the big kitchen table to eat. Lovely views from all the windows. Nice little pub just along the road in Swinton with a beer garden.

Lovely country hotel in a small village, just a few miles to coast or places of interest. Comfortable room, nicely furnished. Very dog friendly. Excellent menu, not too expensive. If we lived closer we’d use it regularly.
