Quite a small town & we were surprised when we arrived that they have half-day closing on a Wednesday. We went to the Castle Pub, food was good & staff were friendly. Wem is a nice little town tucked away in beautiful countryside just north of Shrewsbury. People there are so friendly and nice and it is a quiet little town. It is a short drive to Shrewsbury and only 30 miles from the beautiful RAF Museum Midlands, which is a must see if you are in the area.Guest review byKayIreland - 4.0

Windows in bedroom in terrible state of repair. Shower constantly changed from very cold to very hot. No proper wardrobe - just hanging space. Couldn't charge to the room from the bar - had to leave credit card behind the bar!!! No drawers in the room. Very, very hot and only one very small fan. Extractor fan in bathroom didn't work. Often no-one at reception. Had to use phone to call someone and often no-one came. Only saving grace was the food.
