Fully functional cottage apartment with separate lounge, kitchen and bedroom. Well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, clothes which all are wecome by longer term traveller. Peaceful, tranquil and immersed in the country on a working sheep farm. In the centre of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, ready access to many walks and points of interest. We took the stream train from Pickering to Whitby. Local Co-op close by provides basic necessities, plan ahead for roasts and more detailed meals. Superb in floor heating.

The location is in a beautiful rural area. It is really quiet with easy walking tracks. Everything is provided including a small fridge in the room, however be mindful there is no cooking facilities.

You could see for miles, and walk straight from the property. The host had added so many lovely touches, with snacks, fresh milk, hot chocolate and plenty of wood for the fire and the hot tub. The host was easy to contact and made us feel very welcome. Absolutely loved this beautiful hut…in spite of the rain and wind!

What a lovely cottage in a super location. As described it is peaceful, and tranquil. The roads to it are single track and parking is not a problem. We used it as a base to complete the Coast to Coast Trail to Robin Hoods Bay, it gave us easy access to all the locations we needed to be to start each days walks. How lovely to know we were coming back to a great shower with lots of hot water, in a modern, nicely decorated bathroom The bedrooms had comfortable beds and plenty of room. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Its worth remembering that you are a good distance from shops so worth bringing things with you or picking them up whilst you're out exploring. We had milk, a few eggs, some wonderful home pressed apple juice and cooking apples left for us during our stay. The lounge has plenty of seating, is a very good size and the log fire made it cosy. The only issue we had was the timing the heating came on in the morning, but a quick message and it was sorted straight away to meet our needs - early risers 😊 The small secure garden was useful to let our dog out in, and a fab place to enjoy the dark skies and stars. I would happily stay here again if walking or exploring the area and am happy to recommend it

We loved the warm welcome, the standard of the cottage was fantastic. comfortable bed, heating was on before we got there so the property was lovely and warm as the weather outside was snowy and cold. Close to a pub and lovely local shop. A summer stay for us next time to appreciate the surrounding countryside with walks!

Very peaceful place and a perfect overnight stay while walking the C2C (incl. a lift back to the path on the following morning). I would stay there again.

Great location for walkers close to main roads but also able...

Great location for walkers close to main roads but also able to go off on bridal ways, location can feel remote for some people nearest village is Castleton one pub and one shop. This property is in Westerdaleside not Westerdale village and is down a farm track. Within easy reach of Guisborough, Saltburn, Redcar, Whitby etc
