There are lots of nice places to eat and drink and they are particularly good for seafood. There's also a lot of independent shops selling interesting things which makes the town different to others. Whitstable has a lot to offer, great beaches, independent shops (plus a few good chain shops), cafes and restaurants, super dog friendly and wonderful locals! If you are looking for a quick getaway from where you are, then Whitstable is a fabulous option! I go virtually every year with my dogs for a break, beach walks, retail therapy, eating, drinking and relaxing. I love the variety of independent shops.
I love the variety of independent shops. The seafront, harbour area and little streets are really interesting. I swam in the sea and enjoyed restful hours on the beach. The vintage stores, charity shops and clothes shops are friendly and welcoming and I bought some nice gifts for friends and for myself. Windy Corner Stores does a great breakfast and coffee. The Whitstable Oyster restaurant was fantastic. Ossie's fish and chips were very good. A beautiful seaside town with a great atmosphere, history, castle, restaurants, music and quirky shops with plenty of beach and a long interesting promenade.
