We have stayed at many accommodations in England over the past month. Most of them have been of a high standard but Labbadax House outshone them all. From the warm welcome, beautifully appointed room and delicious breakfast, we could not fault our stay. Our hosts, Glenda and Lee, went out of their way to ensure our stay was a comfortable one. We stayed an extra night and wish we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend Labbadax House!!!

The Town centre is full of drunks on benches at all hours of...

The Town centre is full of drunks on benches at all hours of the day. There are reports of high crime compared to other towns in Cambridgeshire. It has a number of things to see such as the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, Peckover House, Elgood's Brewery and Gardens(open every Thursday) and Octavia Hill's birthplace, who was one of the founders of the National Trust.

Wisbech is very run down and generally unpleasant in my...

Wisbech is very run down and generally unpleasant in my opinion. I went there for an event which was good, but if you have no prior reason to visit, I would recommend giving it a miss. I’ve added no photos cos I took none. The castle and church are fine buildings, as are some of the run down buildings. On Saturday lunchtime there was a group of Eastern European men drinking beer and openly urinating in the churchyard, it didn’t get much better in the town area.

We enjoyed the museum and there is beautiful planting around the church. BUT open drug dealing on the street, no police evident by cars parked everywhere, on the pavements, all along double yellow lines. We were advised by hotel receptionist not to go out at night and the car park and hotel are locked and secured at 9pm. Very run down a lots of empty shops and litter.

I like the new developed houses

I like the new developed houses Loads of parking places and not paid for parking at all Environmental friendly no pollution It is not easy to get around Wisbech as taxis are pre booked in advance. Our journey did not allow us to book in advance. Will like to see public transport available regularly like every 10 to 15 minutes

I didn't stay in Wisbech too long as I was travelling...

I didn't stay in Wisbech too long as I was travelling through. But what I did see was a a town centre with lots of boarded up shops and on the outskirts a new out of town development with supermarkets, cinema, Costa Coffee, B & Q etc which is killing the town centre. This is a problem affecting most city centres in the UK

All photo looks so great, that we decide to visit.

All photo looks so great, that we decide to visit. We found free car parking next to church. Then we went to see area. When we went through little park next to church, we start worried. We pass group of young people drinking beer, then teenagers around 13-14 years smoking weed, then older people already drunk. And another group of drunk people. We run back to car as we start be scary of safety, and it wasn't pleasure to enjoy any view. I think town council really need to look into that as could be nice tourist spot.

The hotel is designed around Oliver Twist with quotations on the wall. We never did find out the significance. Nicely decorated and a friendly atmosphere in the bar/ restaurant area. The food was lovely and the staff amazing. Thanks to Emma for a warm welcome and looking after us, as well as to the cook and staff at breakfast. Our room was spacious with a large ‘wet area’ bathroom and we could park outside the door. There is the usual array of tea and coffee in the room with great biscuits. Free WiFi is available.

Location was very peaceful, and the home was very nice. Lovely being able to open double doors and enjoy the quiet. Easy to find and good place to explore area. Far enough from Wisbech town centre to feel like absolute countryside living, but close enough to get supplies. Car essential. Instructions to get to location and get key were easy to follow and host had great communication. TV channels were all good and plentiful for evening entertainment.

Hotel is lovely, with super looking bar & restaurant (tho sadly we didn't have time to use, as out locally for dinner with friends). Rooms are a decent size, with good furniture, comfortable double beds (ours was a standard double, not a king), ample pillows, great shower & shower room.Our dog was made to feel welcome, with a dog bowl, sleeping pad and chew! Huge car park, with dog bin & poop bag dispenser.
