I cannot speak highly enough of my experience at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with any queries and were incredibly warm and welcoming. The scenery was breathtaking; our room in the pottery-style accommodation offered stunning views of the Caucasus Mountains, allowing us to witness breathtaking sunrises amidst vineyards. The dinner was exceptional, with lamb and beef liver dishes being absolute highlights, complemented perfectly by their exquisite homemade red wine. However, what truly left a lasting impression was the breakfast spread – incredibly lavish, and enjoying it amidst such natural beauty was an unparalleled delight.

I recently stayed at the hotel with my colleague and had a wonderful experience. The host was very friendly and polite, always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel was spotless. Its location was perfect, being close to the center and several supermarkets, pharmacies, etc., making it very convenient for any needs. The view from my window was stunning, offering a beautiful panorama of the surroundings. To top it all off, the breakfast was excellent. We were in Telavi for a field trip and needed to leave the hotel early in the morning, and they agreed to serve breakfast at a time convenient for us. Highly recommended!

Stayed 1 night after a day in Kakheti. The place is very nice with a great view on the valley and mountains. Rooms are comfortable and it is warm in the bathroom (which is really rear when you travel in Georgia). The breakfast was tasty and prepared specially for us. The hosts were helpful and friendly, advised a good place to buy some local wine. In fact they even have their own house wine!

The hotel is beautiful and cozy. It has plenty of shared space such as beautiful terrace and big hall downstairs. it’s a little bit far from the city and everything but it’s peaceful and quiet. Room is clean and comfortable, there is everything you need. the staff is always on touch, friendly and trying to help, towels in the room are changed daily and they also treated with local homemade wine as a complement.

Best places to stay in Telavi! Hosts was super friendly and helpful! The husband offered us his great homemade wine and organic apples. I had to go to the hospital and they were very kind to call and enquire for me and also give me a lift there. the room was wonderful, super comfortable bed, extremely clean and very well utilated. Everything was perfect! Make sure you do the vineyard tour with George the driver the recommend - we had an amazing time with him!

Found a great bar, very small but the guy that ran it and...

Found a great bar, very small but the guy that ran it and his wife were amazing, best bar we found in Georgia and probably the smallest and basic but would go there every time. Check out Suphevs Bar if you are in town. Don't be put off by how small it is, the wine and beer he picks himself and he's passionate about it. The town around the castle is nice, the rest is run down, we were recommended to go to Badia restaurant and that was the best choice, lovely meal there, went there on the day we left for coffee and a light bite, enjoyed that too.

Telavi is a charming town in the heart of Kakheti, surrounded by beautiful vineyards and breathtaking views of the Caucasus mountains. The town has a relaxing atmosphere and is perfect for walking through its quiet streets. Local wine and traditional Georgian cuisine make the experience especially authentic. The people are warm and welcoming, adding to the sense of true Georgian hospitality. Telavi is also rich in history and culture, with old churches, fortresses, and museums to explore. Overall, it is a wonderful destination for anyone who wants to enjoy nature, history, and the famous Kakhetian wine

An old city with warm, friendly, hospitable people, very cultural and beautiful, with best restaurants and cafes. With a five century old royal castle right in the center of the city and quite a lot of historical buildings, monasteries, fortresses, a noble palace around the city no more than 30 minutes' drive.

Telavi is the capital of Georgia's winemaking region - Kakheti. It was my first time there and my jaw dropped when I saw mountains all around the city and a lot of tourist attractions. The hotels are superb there so everyone can find the most suitable option for them. You should taste wine and local food!!!

The palace of the kings of Kakheti sits in a fully walled...

The palace of the kings of Kakheti sits in a fully walled enclosure and has been beautifully restored. Persian influence is clear. Within the defensive walls are 2 churches and a bathhouse. Also inside is museum with archaeological remains plus excellent ethnographic and costume displays, and a room of 19th and 20th century paintings, all on the same ticket as the palace. Beyond the palace enclosure, there are parts of the city walls preserved. Note the huge statue of Georgian king Erekle II, just east of the palace. In the neighborhood are a number of beautiful 18th and 19th century houses. Old houses may have a 19th c. Russian street facade but a Georgian balconied courtyard, decorated with carved wood. Much new construction is in old style in this neighborhood. Note also a nice-looking early to mid 20th century downtown. There is a huge ancient Plane-tree up the hill just SE of Erekle II. Restaurant Kapiloni was delicious.

The royal palace complex is still fully walled.

The royal palace complex is still fully walled. The palace itself is relatively small as Turkish & Iranian palaces tend to be, with a central throne room, surrounded by small residential rooms, all looking out onto pillared balconies. The colored glass in paneled windows gives the right idea, but looks too regular to be original. Included in the ticket and complex is a very nice archaeological/ethnographic/fine arts museum. In addition to the palace fortifications, a large bastion and parts of the city walls survive. There are many beautiful old 19th century houses scattered about in the town and 20th century business section is handsome as well.
