The place was very modern. On arrival at the place, we were greeted by professional and friendly staff. They also talked us through the room facilities and gave us a complimentary sparkling wine. The massage therapist Maria was also amazing in the spa sessions. Extremely professional and we felt so much more relaxed after the therapy session :) 100% recommending their spa facilities. We will definitely book again when we come to Chania again.

The frontline staff, Maria, Faaia and Nicholas were always available to help with any queries, organising taxis and were kind and helpful. The hotel provided a free shuttle bus to town, which made the location perfect. Views from the hotel looking down on the town and the port were breathtaking. We often took the walk down to the town and the shuttle uphill to the hotel. It was a good mix. We were warmly greeted each day by the cleaning staff, who were efficient and thorough. There is a laundry for washing and drying clothing, and we especially enjoyed the use of the leisure room where we could read and enjoy a game of cards. The offering for breakfast was varied and delicious. The dining room is perfectly situated to take in the incredible views. On our last evening, we booked for dinner in the dining room just before sundown. We had a scrumptious meal, a great bottle of wine and bade farewell to Chania. We highly recommend Royal Sun hotel, we believe it will not disappoint.

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation at Selected Suites in Chania, Crete. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and taken care of. The hotel itself is modern, spotless, and beautifully designed – everything was even better than we expected. Our suite was spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The steam room was a great bonus! The location is also excellent, just a short walk from the beach, shops, and restaurants, yet still peaceful and quiet at night. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the amazing staff – especially Abdel. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy throughout our stay. His kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail really stood out, and we can’t thank him enough for his outstanding hospitality. We will absolutely return to Selected Suites and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay in Chania. Five stars from us!

Our experience at Elia Sea Suites was simply exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and always attentive, making sure our stay was perfect. The room with a sea view and stunning sunset was absolutely breathtaking. The jacuzzi added an extra touch of luxury and relaxation, making our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was another highlight—great quality and a variety of delicious options to start the day right. In terms of location, the hotel is just a 6-7 minute walk from the port. It’s slightly set back from the busiest areas, offering a peaceful retreat. I imagine this would be even more valuable during peak season, but at this time of year, it was simply perfect. Overall, an outstanding stay with nothing but positives! I highly recommend it and would love to return.

The old town is worth visiting especially during low season, when there is more space and tourists are not jostling for restaurant tables and selfie spots. There are several good restaurants in the old Venetian port, look for places where locals are eating.

Chania is wonderful.

Chania is wonderful. I have difficulties to decide which part of Crete is my favourite because every place has it's own special value. Chania is beautiful, you can see the White Mountains from there, the Venetian harbour is unique, the people are so nice, the history can be seen everywhere. I just love Chania and I love Crete.

We were in Chania for three days late in the season.

We were in Chania for three days late in the season. Never made it to the beach, but enjoyed old town, a sunset cruise and the archaeological museum. Would love to have had a few more days and rented a car to explore the area.

I have been a few other places in Crete, and this town is lovely. I liked the amount of stuff - nice beaches, plenty of restaurants, so many different options to walk around including museums and ruins to explore. I love snorkeling and was able to snorkel right off the beach (Nea Chora beach) where comfy beach chairs cost 5-10 Euros for the whole day. There were tons of fish, urchins, and cool creatures to look at and the water was crystal clear. Chania is one of the most beautiful places I have been in Europe, a wonderful surprise as I was there for work. The town itself is close to the airport and it is easy to get around town as a foreigner. And the food was very cheap and delicious. I have celiac disease (gluten free) and was able to find food easily that was amazing and safe for me. I would definitely go back and plan a longer stay!

Chania is a beautiful European city that shows off the cultural mosaic of Crete as compared with the rest of the Greek islands. The streets are lively and layered with history and foliage. The locals are friendly, and the food is good. Getting there without a car can be difficult if you experience motion sickness as the buses are wild drivers, but overall I would highly recommend it to travelers.

Chania was wonderful and charming.

Chania was wonderful and charming. We enjoyed excellent restaurants and cafes, fun shopping, beautiful beaches, and great activities. We loved experiencing Greek culture and the kindness and helpfulness of everyone we met. We stayed in Chania for five days, and were sorry to leave - we could have enjoyed more time there. I would recommend staying for at least five days - you won't run out of things to do.

Best location ever! You are loking on the beach and street is full of restaurants, bars and markets. Perfect view from appartment terace and wonderful sunset each day. Very clean, each day cleaning by the staff. Breakfast served each day basic, light and same every day. You can take a walk to the old town, is it best to go along the coast, you will need 15min. Family hotel and such an atmosphere, very friendly staff. All recomendation to stay here, if i have opportunity in the future for sure this will be my choice again!

Everything was just amazing! The hotel itself very beautiful, restaurant with excellent food (don't need to look for better place to eat)! Good pool facilities. Staff very very helpful, friendly, they make your staying in this hotel unforgettable. Andreas is wonderful host, he will give you the best advice on where to go and what to do (don't need to make plan earlier). Easy access to Chania by bus or by foot. I highly recommend this place to spend a wonderful time in Crete ! We couldn't have been more pleased.

-Exceptional service. Felt more like a luxury 5 star hotel because of the staff. W had a flight at 6am, the hotel had provided us with breakfast bags when checking out. Ordering transport, upgrade of room, help with all practical matters etc. Stayed at 5 star luxury hotels and their service did not match Samaria. -Location just 5 mins walk to old town and 1 min from central bus station. -Great rainfall shower.
