Igoumenitsa is an ideal starting point to visit lots of lovely areas of mainland Greece. The beaches North of the town towards Albania are lovely and the water clean. Outside Igoumenitsa going south there are lots of bays and hotels to visit and some lovely unspoilt countryside and villages. A visit to the Acheron Gorge is really worthwhile.

When I was in Igoumenitsa, I checked out Zanzibar — definitely a must-visit! The vibe was great, the food was amazing, and the sunset views were stunning. We had a pre-wedding gathering there, went for a swim, and the staff were super friendly, which made the whole experience even better.

I recommend a visit to the Archeological museum of...

I recommend a visit to the Archeological museum of Igoumenitsa. This museum is excellent with friendly and knowledgeable staff and an amazing collection including exhibits from a recent exploration near to Igoumenitsa. Igoumenitsa castle is worth a visit. It is close to the town centre and an excellent viewpoint for the port area as well as being well preserved with informative signage. Walk along the promenade from the ferry port towards the beach. Rent a bicycle and cycle to the beach. Order souvlaki and a beer from the street cafes along the promenade.

The city is a typical Greek city dependent on sea trade and...

The city is a typical Greek city dependent on sea trade and transport. It also has nice beaches but the harbour as hub for the surrounding islands of Corfu and other islands like Paxos in the Ionian Sea, and therefore there is a lot of sea traffic on the water as well in the city as the main motorway leads from Igoumentisa to Thessaloniki.

I liked the fact that everything is within walking distance.

I liked the fact that everything is within walking distance. Caught a fairy to Corfu and spent the day there also. If we had a car it would have been so much better but was too scared to drive on the wrong side of the road being from Australia lol. The thing that was a disappointment was the fact that there are step’s everywhere and if you are disabled there is no chance to get in and out of shops etc… Foot paths were uneven and too many stray cats and dogs.

We used the Hotel as a stopover during our holiday, we were using the port as a point of transfer over to the island of Corfu. The hotel and location cannot be faulted. We found a small taverna within 50 meters of the hotel where we ate for the evening.

The hotel is just a minute away from the ferry, which is super convenient. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. I especially loved the balcony with its amazing view – the sunset was simply stunning. A great bonus was having an iron in the room, which is really handy while traveling. I also appreciated the extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe – perfect for someone like me who gets cold easily 😊. We stayed only for one night, but we had a great rest and slept really well. Definitely recommend!

Very conveniently close to port, ample off-road parking. Packeted breakfast (croissant) in room, free water and juice in room, 24 hour reception. Useful fridge and a/c worked well. Helpful concierge. We requested extra pillows and they came in 5 minutes… a good old fashioned Greek hotel.

Just a one night stay after a flight from U.K. to Corfu airport and ferry to mainland. Short walk from ferry port. Bed was very comfortable and hotel was a good location for a good choice of restaurants in the evening. Staff very helpful booking an onward taxi.

Even though I arrived very late the hotel arranged to make the check in easy , they left the key at the entrance of the hotel , I immediately saw it . Very happy with initiative,as I was very tired from the ferry boat trip 10 hours
