It was a ski lodge high overlooking Kalavryta. The bed was on an open landing above the lounge area. Fantastic breakfast on the groundfloor veranda. The air was fresh and the location was very quiet.

·A lovely and cozy guesthouse in a beautiful location. Wonderful views of the mountains and the Mega Spileo monastery. Kind young host who introduced the history of the house. You felt very welcome. Meals were a little away from the house in a restaurant owned by the host's family.

The town is a tourist base.

The town is a tourist base. Not particularly interesting or pleasant. We only went for the railway trip, but unfortunately it was cancelled on the two days we were there, due to falling rocks on the line. This doesn't happen very often apparently...we were just unlucky. There are cave lakes to visit but we didn't do that.The car journey to the town is wonderful both ways - from Dimitsana and Diakopto.

Lovely town with wide spaces, friendly people and some compelling history attached to it from the Holocaust and the Greek Independence . Great meal at a local restaurant that was delicious and very traditional. Unfortunately it is difficult to get around without a car and taxis are way too expensive. To get to Ayia Lavra which is 4 kms away they wanted 20 euro up and back. In the end we didn't go to any monastery. They should have buses that go up and back, at least during the tourist season

Kalavrita is a gorgeous town with lots of Greek History...

Kalavrita is a gorgeous town with lots of Greek History important sites, amazing nature walks and hike, lovely very affordable food and welcoming people. Even if you don't ski, as it is known for the ski resort, there are lots of things to enjoy. I will definitely revisit as 3 days at Kalavrita were barely enough.

Kalavrita is a nice town (bigger and more lively then...

Kalavrita is a nice town (bigger and more lively then expected... but again not a big town). We found a good restaurant offering a big variety of Greek food. When we were there after the mid of August there was a nice concert in the main square and there were many people around. The shops were opened as well. We saw the orthodox Monastery of Kalavrita (it is free) and I recommend the visit, there was a nice atmospheare.

Kalavrita is a nice get away.

Kalavrita is a nice get away. You don’t have to go to ski, just being in the quaint town it’s perfect. Strolls, eating out, there are some awesome places to eat. You can retreat in the warmth of your room. Read, chill or just watch a good flick. Also there are places to see that are not far.

We visited the Holocaust museum, that is realized in the real original school building where Nazist soldiers activated the massacre of Kalavitra inhabitants. Very well organized, effective, emotional Then, we took the opportunity to jump on the cog train towards Diakopto, and to experience the unique, beautiful and unforgettable walk along the railroad path, with magnific view on the Vouraikos gorge and river. Excellent dinner at "To Spitikou", with very good fresh Greek food and warm welcom by the host

It was even better than the photos!The place was beautiful,cosy, clean and the host was super friendly, hospitable and eager to tell us where to go and what to see in order to make the most of our visit in Kalavryta. She had also prepared a breakfast basket for us, which was amazing. The location is great,in a quiet neighbourhood, just 4 mins walk into the centre of Kalavryta. Will definitely go back again!!!

A very relaxing holiday in a village, only a 20-minute drive from Kalavryta . The view from the balcony was stunning, and there was plenty to do. The rack and pinion railway from Kalavryta is a must ,as well as the Holocaust Museum
