The location is absolutely perfect — perched right above the sea, the hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views that you can enjoy from nearly every corner . Waking up to the sound of waves and watching the sunset over the horizon was truly magical. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Whether it was recommendations for local spots or prompt service, their hospitality was top-notch. The rooms were immaculately clean, spacious, and exceptionally comfortable, with plush bedding and all the modern amenities you'd expect. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is peaceful and inviting. If you're looking for a serene coastal retreat with stunning views, outstanding service, and exceptional comfort, I can't recommend Hotel Vallum enough.

Cavtat is the perfect homebase for visiting Croatia. It's a cozy walkable seaside village with many restaurants, and not overrun with tourists like Dubrovnik. To see Dubrovnik it's easy and cheap to do a day trip from Cavtat, with boats departing many times per day. As a bonus Cavtat is not far from the airport.

For me it’s too late in the year for sea swimming but not...

For me it’s too late in the year for sea swimming but not for sunbathing if that’s your thing. Not for me, good weather is important for boat trips and exploring further afield and this is a good base for that but can be pricey. Nothing much to do in Cavtat at this time of year and basically it all closes down on 31st October. Half the restaurants are still open but I don’t know for how much longer and they are also pricey. Dinner for two with a drink and a glass of wine is is very easily €100 plus. The whole town gets dressed up and comes out for a walk on Sunday. Very nice, just like Italy or Spain. My overall impression is that tourists are coming with holiday money and they want as much of it as possible. I suppose that’s how you only open for 6 or 7 months of the year. So, nice place and a lovely hotel at reasonable price ( but that may be because it was closedown time?) but be ready to spend!

1) It's a small village, so I expected food to be more...

1) It's a small village, so I expected food to be more affordable. Instead, I found a bunch of expensive restaurants. It was the end of the season meaning not many tourists. Still, no discounts, ridiculous prices. I mean 25 eur for a modest pizza, what's that really??? 2) Public parking is virtually non-existant. If you travel by car, make sure your host arrange you a parking spot.

Very nice town with great restaurants and bars overlooking the harbour. Only 7 mins taxi ride from Dubrovnik airport. Boat rides into Dubrovnik take around 50 mins, local bus takes about the same time. Nice places within easy walking distance for a swim in the sea. Would highly recommend Cavtat for a relaxing break.

Very laid back place to visit ,amazing scenery ,very nice helpful locals and only ten minutes from the airport.Really nice walks in the area and a very good bus service to Dubrovnik.Food was really good and reasonably priced .

Great location with many bars and restaurants. Seaside location is fantastic. Town is clean and well maintained and away from the very busy Dubrovnik Old Town. It is on the flight path to Dubrovnik Airport but you don’t really notice the planes. BBQ restaurant was good value.

Family run hotel, and probably the best value for money in Cavtat! 3 star hotel, but which provides you with absolutely everything you need. Offers transfer for free. Has everything you need to go to the beach including towel, umbrellas and bathing shoes, sunscreen in all varieties and snorkling equiptment. All in all the perfect place for å quick get away in the Cavtat/Dubrovnik region. The hosts Kristina and Dejan I will give a 10 out of 10👌👌👌 Thanks for the Travarica, nice touch.

Lovey setting. Lovely clean, warm sea and no jellyfish! Cavtat very pretty and perfectly situated to visit Dubrovnik by boat taxi (45 mins)/20 Euros return. Good wide ranging breakfasts. Very big hotel 1000 guests/500 rooms so big operation. Super outdoor and indoor swimming pools just the right size, warmth and depth and well organised beach operation below hotel. Plenty of places to eat out/lovely sunsets.

Dinner was good and worth it. There was a lovely sunset in front of the hotel, which is beachfront with nice, clean facilities. Great location near Cavtat center with easy access to Dubrovnik Old Town by bus or Uber.
