The beach cafe’s were very good.

The beach cafe’s were very good. It wasn’t overly crowded and we had no communication/language problems. There were good transport links to other places for sightseeing and apart from one day the weather was warm and sunny. It is hilly and access to the beach areas is steep if walking but there is plenty of parking near the sailing club if that is your method of travel

You can park your car on the road at the entrance to the...

You can park your car on the road at the entrance to the accommodation, the road is secondary and there is no traffic, the beach is 5 minutes away, you go down the stairs several times to the nearest beach... of course you can also drive 3 minutes to the first large parking lot... (there are some several along the main road)... 1 euro for an hour ..day ticket 6 euro...then the promenade continues for about 6 km surrounded by a metal fence ..you can enjoy the beautiful view and choose the swimming bay you want, there are many. ..you go down to them by stairs... the beaches are beautiful, the sea is clean, most of them are small pebbly, suitable for children... there are several cafes and restaurants with a beautiful view of Kvarner...

Kostrena is a small and quiet place, with not many tourists, just as we had hoped. The sea was wonderfully clean and warm. There are several bars/bistros near the beach, and a few fine restaurants in the town itself. The promenade by the sea is beautiful, without the stands and shops that resemble a summer fair in many seaside towns. All in all, a great place for a peaceful family vacation.

A pleasant hotel for a night or two. The staff is welcoming, the facilities are clean, there's direct beach access, and a substantial breakfast with a variety of choices. The rooms are basic but adequate for a short stay.

Kostrena is a small town with plenty of supermarkets and service stations. It's located just outside Rijeka, where you'll find a beautiful historic center. Krk is just 50 minutes away. A beautiful island with many historic centers, Kostrena is a great base for exploring the islands. Prices in Croatia are now comparable to those in Italy. Diesel and cigarettes, however, are less expensive.

Garni beach for family vacation.

Garni beach for family vacation. There is a cafe where you can eat pizza or burgers/hot dogs with seafood. There are no sea urchins. It is more convenient to walk on the beach and enter the water in special shoes (corals). Very beautiful view and spacious beach.
