The walk from Cuban each into town - approximately 3 km was lovely with lots of good beachfront cafes. Parking was expensive for beach access and difficult to get a Bolt/Uber the times we tried. Makarska is nice place to visit in June and September. July and August is very hot and a lot off tourists on the beach, and on the streets. A lot of traffic, problem to find parking place. Makarska town - a great strategic location to reach other attractions - Dubrovnik, Split-Trogir, Omiš, KRKA park, Biokovo SKYwalk observation deck. This is a great combination of relaxation and sightseeing. We recommend coming from mid-July, because the Adriatic Sea is quite cold. Makarska is beautiful with lots of choice of restaurants and bars along the beach. Makarska old town is beautiful and was our favorite place to hang out. Full of character and amazing architecture with the old buildings, little streets off with small independent shops and coffee shops/restaurants. The square that has entertainment going on. There's a beautiful harbor and lovely walks from there to explore other beaches. Makarska is so clean and the people are so friendly. There's so much to explore in the area as well as further afield. An absolute gem of a stay, we loved Makarska and it was a great base from which to visit the many wonderful places that Croatia has to offer.
