we liked everything: location, breakfast, rooms, etc. the staff is super kind. just note that the breakfast starts at 07:30 and the restaurant closes for dinner at 19:30 (but the bar remains open)

The apartment was very well equipped and in a very nice setting. It would be especially nice in summer as it is in the foothills of the mountain range. I think this property is astounding value for money. Other properties in the area are much more expensive.

The apartment was beautifully furnished, very cozy and comfortable. That is definitely the best point of the stay. We had a nice view from the balcony to the greenery around if you ignore the highway nearby. Everything seemed clean. The hill next to the accommodation is a slight climb which gives an outstanding panorama view on the lake and mountains behind it. Very recommendable for the morning hike or jog!

Prekrasno malo mjesto. Odlična lokacija za planinarenje. U blizini se nalazi planinarski dom "Bijele stijene" u kojem se može dobiti ukusan ručak/večera. Savjet: pri polasku na planinarsku turu najavite vlasnicima doma svoj dolazak na ručak/večeru.

Like other towns in Gorski Kotar, Mrkopalj is pleasant and "homely", with friendly people and a well-maintained environment still mostly made up of traditional houses. We would like the renovation that is being seen to go in the direction of preserving traditional buildings and for more people to revive this somewhat neglected destination.

What I liked the most was the layout of the place - the newly renovated area around the church, a children's playground with a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes on a hill, well-maintained walking trails, a large football field with the Čelimbaša ski resort nearby, and right next door is the "Kućica" buffet, which offers excellent food - modernly combined with local ingredients, such as lamb pizza with škripavec.

The locals are very friendly.

The locals are very friendly. The local cafe is always full and friendly locals are willing to help, advise and drink morning brandy with you :) Starting point for many surrounding hikes. A quiet place for mental rest. Excellent connection to the highway.

Beautiful nature in Mrkopalj, although I don't know which place is more picturesque: Begovo Razdolje, Sunger, Brestova Draga or Tuk Vojni, which has the special charm of a small mountain village. In any case, it's an ideal place to escape the city, yet within easy reach of Rijeka or the even closer Delnice.

The town has a well-stocked grocery store, practically open even during holidays. The villagers socialize in the village inn, the atmosphere is like in the friendly old days. It is a location on the edge of the wilderness, with untouched nature, without the noise of civilization. Starting point for cycling and hiking tours.
