AustraliaWe have loved everything about our stay at Tiu Batu Homestay. Our room is very comfortable and private, with everything we would need for a happy stay. We have our own outdoor space to chill and share meals. The property is beautiful; with a big river running through it. You can swim in this river, and the water is clear and refreshing. Breakfast was really great, and we actually ate all our meals here at Tiu Batu. The beautiful host Robbie and his wife prepare meals using the organic produce that they grow on their property. For each meal we are different traditional dishes, that were nourishing, interesting and flavourful. It is pretty special to be eating fish caught that day from the pond your room overlooks. Our host, Robbie, took the time to show us around the property, he showed us the way to the local waterfall and he took us to the local market. He has made sure we are comfortable, and offered great recommendations for things to do in the area. We loved the Alas area, the energy in town is really great, there are many food stalls in the evening, and the local market is also very good. The waterfall which is a 5 min drive and then a two hour hike from the homestay is one of the most beautiful that we have seen. We have stayed three nights, and are already organising to come back to stay for a few more nights later in our trip. I really cannot recommend this homestay more highly.
