We stayed there before and after a 4 day jungle trek during the low/wet season. The bungalow was located on the river, right at the edge of the jungle. There are frequently macaque and Thomas's leaf monkeys in the trees and jumping on the roof. You can leave non-food items on the patio (like clothes drying after the jungle), but the host advised us to keep the door locked when we aren't around to keep them from coming in. We specifically chose somewhere without AC to acclimatize to the temperature and humidity, but ventilation inside was good. Porters met us at our taxi to carry the luggage through the village and across the bridge, which was appreciated.

The friendliest staff/host I've ever had. Yes, the location is far from the village, and it's scary and dangerous to walk back to the guesthouse alone at night. But don't hesitate to ask the host for a ride, they are always willing to help! Very good place to just relax and chill out.

We stayed a week at the Jungle Inn and wished we could have stayed longer. It was sad to leave such a beautiful, peaceful setting. We had a large comfortable room (no.3) overlooking the river, decent wifi, supplied water so you didn’t have to buy plastic bottles and a kettle, we brought our own tea. The staff are friendly and professional and everyone at Bukit Lawang had a smile for us. Terima kasih banyak

The manager is very kind and friendly, and also smiles a lot.. not stingy with information about places to visit there too.. The stay was perfect. The room was very comfortable and the location was excellent. The breakfast was great and the people were so helpful and friendly. Very well organized, Dedy Cool letting us know in advance the distance from the airport and helping with getting to the hotel. We did the one day tour and it was provided by fantastic tour guides who were extremely knowledgeable about the rainforest and Orangutangs. We would highly recommend.
