Very quiet place, no road or any other noise. Very clean, newly renovated. Spacious enough to accommodate our family of four. Approx 10 minutes drive to the start of the waterfalls path (no gojek in this area). The place might feel quite isolated, although from our experience you have to choose between a good night sleep (like here) or being closer to some attractions (expect a lot of noise). Make your own choice.

We spent three nights over there with my new wife. The room is really nice with an amazing open view on the rice field. The team was very helpful to organize trip nearby, with a full set of possible activities to do, including the visit of waterfalls, hikes and canoeing on the nearby lake etc. On top of the amazing place, the piscine is really nice and relaxing.

What a marvelous hidden little gem. We had a lovely room. Nicely decorated. Clean. Comfortable bed. Great view. The location is great as you can go for a trek in the forest and discover 3 waterfalls nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back or recommend it.

This beautiful villa in the mountains offers amazing views and a peaceful escape. The design is thoughtful and inviting, and the host was very attentive and helpful. Even in the rain, it was a great retreat from the beach. The waterfalls are just a short walk away, making the location even more special. Umah Lusa is a credit to those who envisioned it, created it and work every day to ensure the highest standards of genuine hospitality. The setting is spectacular; an almost heavenly hilltop aspect, seemingly above the clouds and a world away from the tourist crowds. The views over the hills towards the sea, the stunning pool, and the beautiful gardens are just the start. The stand-alone rooms are quietly luxurious, well-appointed and extremely comfortable. The in-house massage was excellent, and the steam room and sauna were a welcome addition. The restaurant setting is sublime at any time of day, and we enjoyed everything we tried from the extensive menu, which offers both local flavours and Western options, all done very well. However, the highlight of our stay was the staff who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Their welcoming smiles and genuine engagement were a sheer delight and will live long in our memories of this stunning property.

Temperature (around 18-19 degrees celcius in the evening) and beautiful countryside and vegetation - many waterfall walks available (although quite tourist heavy). Beautiful area and totally different to the various beach spots of Bali.

The area around Munduk is very hilly so it is good to be prepared for this if doing a lot of walking. If you don’t have your own wheels, you are mostly reliant on local transport/drivers,to get to a number of attractions in the area. We enjoyed a visit to the Lakes and the Botanical Gardens which were very peaceful. Walking the 5 local waterfalls from Golden Valley was a highlight, which took us most of the day. Next time I would go on the canoes on Tamblingan Lake. It looked like fun.

For my money, Munduk and other areas of North Bali, are the...

For my money, Munduk and other areas of North Bali, are the places to visit if you are looking for an authentic Bali experience, lacking in over-crowdedness and offering simply what the South can no longer offer: unhurried, unobstructed and authentic natural beauty and kindness, the kind that was maybe present 40 years ago in the South, when I last visited. If you are into nature that is not over infrastructured, this might be your place too. Because it is remote, it will lack Grab and other conveniences but that is the price we pay for being early to a place. Let's hope it stays this way forever. I know the locals hope so too.

Driving around the Munduk area gave me some of the most...

Driving around the Munduk area gave me some of the most stunning views of all the places I have visited in Bali. I love the countryside of Sideman, the Jungles of Ubud, and the hills and mountains of Candidasa, but the hill and mountain experience of Munduk just blew me away. Next time I will return for more than one night, and do some trekking and Waterfalls.

Munduk and Bedugul area is perfect for those that like...

Munduk and Bedugul area is perfect for those that like hiking off the typical balinese tourist locations. There are plenty hiking routes to walk in rice fields, around the lakes, at waterfalls, etc. The restaurants in this area are more local, but also offer some light international kitchen. The nights are more refreshing than in the south and the nature can be fascinating with the clouds, the rain and the sunshine chasing each other. For those that want to explore some curves roads with bicycles or scooters or motorbikes, it is a perfect choice.

Elevate Bali Resirt is true to its name , situated high in the mountains near Munduk in the north of Bali . Though quite a large resort , the individual villas are reasonably remote from each , and offer privacy . The ground/villa staff are always courteous and happy (if a little too ‘schooled’ for quests) in typical Balinese style , and this continues throughout the general resort . Breakfast is one of the highlights here , generous and generally good quality with good service , which is included in the room rate .

Rating (9.5 when I booked) is well deserved. I had a wonderfull time at Lesong Hotel. The location is perfect for visiting both the Munduk area and the three lakes to the east (including visiting the famous Ulun Danu Beratan temple). Accomodation is way above what I expected for the price, staff is very professional yet friendly. The restaurant is excellent, room are big, well equiped and the large windows give a fantastic light. Large and well equiped terrace over the rice fields is the best place to chill.

Such a gorgeous hotel with stunning views. Munduk is so quiet, the hotel is on a hill, and if you know you know, but being on the hill means you get great views and being in a quiet location meant I could hear all the birds on the balcony. The room was huge, as was the balcony. The room and bathroom were lovely and clean. The staff were lovely and the food at the restaurant was pretty yum

We arrived here directly from Denpasar. The hotel helped organise the driver who was fantastic! A great stay, friendly and helpful staff, super comfortable bed and an incredible view from our balcony into the gorgeous lush Munduk valley.
