We had a great time at Villa Bait Lino, Lukas and his family are very nice people and invested to make you spend a good time. The place is beautiful, you sleep just in front of the rices fields and the mountains. I absolutely recommend this place to discover the toraja culture. Also i would recommand Marco as a guide to help you discover Toraja, he is a very nice person, commited to his work and he'll tell you everything you need to know about the toraja culture.

Really lovely, modern, tranquil hotel - good decoration, kind of a cool "Bali" vibe with concrete, wood and good design. Amazing views of quiet rice paddy fields. Communal area and restaurant is a nice place to hang out in the evenings. Staff are friendly and helpful - and should you need help with planning amazing local guidance for tours/visits to funeral ceremonies and grave sites etc. with excellent knowledge, then ask for Rashid who can help you plan both guides and driver. We went out with Yohannes (guide) and Mingu (driver) and we had such a lovely few days with them; they went above and beyond to make sure we saw everything we wanted and more and were so knowledgeable in sharing information about the local traditions and culture. Highly educational and lovely!

This is such a relaxing friendly place to stay. It is an oasis of calm off the frenetic main road of Rantepao. (Though the top floor does get some road noise, and the nearby churches can be very enthusiastic in their singing) The staff are all very helpful, food is great and this is a good place to find reliable guides for trekking or day trips.

Sanggalangi is a wonderful little home stay nestled away from the hustle of the busy street. It is clean, hot water is a plus with abundant quiet seating and eating places on the ground and first floors. Food is outstanding, healthy and plentiful! Ibrah was an absolutely amazing host. He couldn’t do enough for us. The place was spotless, the breakfast was huge and room were perfect! It felt like a real family home in Toraja!
