From the moment of arrival, we felt instantly relaxed and excited to begin our holiday. It was lovely chatting to the Resort Manager Puspa and hearing stories about the Buahan journey thus far from an insider's point of view. Buahan's commitment to sustainability, fostering community and encouraging guests to be at one with nature are highly commendable. For us it's the amazing people, exceptional food and unique experiences that made our stay truly wonderful and unforgettable. A special mention goes to De Gus, our host who was professional, friendly, engaging and always anticipated our needs. On numerous occasions he went out his way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Special thanks to Chef Eka and Chef Agus for the mouth watering meals they prepared for us. We love the concept of 70% plant based, and also the opportunity to go foraging for ingredients, we have learnt so much! A few tips and must do's to share based on our experience: - Tjampuhan Waterfall Trek --> Descend down gravel pathways and you'll be rewarded with Buahan's own private waterfall, beautiful and mesmerising. - Pop-up lunch at Tegal Dukuh, Taro Village --> The perfect blend of culture, adventure, education and of course, delicious food. - Yoga @ the Pavilion --> Best way to start your day, breathe in the peace and tranquility, practising yoga amongst the lush forest and greenery. - Cocktail hour @ Botanist Bar --> Enjoy the 'Salak' Cocktail (whiskey sour with a Buahan twist!) during sunset - Subak Buahan Trek --> A delightful trek exploring local plants and flora, finishing with a stroll through paddy rice fields. Amazing place hidden in the jungle, near Ubud! Great massage at their SPA place, overlooking the river. Superb decorations, such attention to details! Outside bathroom, private pool for our suite. A lot of stone work. Bathrobes, they even gifted me the slippers - all in matching colors, with a touch of purple. The food was delicious, the restaurant had a special offer and they had a swing as a bench for the table overlooking the public pool and a small, but delightful waterfall. Definitely worth coming here. So quiet! Incredible staff at the reception. I loved our lounge space at the villa. The beds were so comfy! The pillows, everything was 5 stars.

We loved everything but the views of Mt Agung, the exquisite tribal decoration, and the extraordinarily professional and discrete staff were what stood out. The location is authentic Bali because it's away from the masses of tourists ,making this an especially peaceful and elegant place.Magnificent breakfasts and dinners. . The area is spectacularly beautiful however it cops a lot of rain and there can be land slides which cut road access. Our hotel (Adiwana Dara Ayu Villas) was a long way from other properties, so eating options (hotels, restaurants, local warungs) were non existent and sadly as the food in our hotel was abysmal (even the Indonesian was done badly) we skipped eating meals which diminished the pleasure of the holiday.

Wayan and his wife Emma have created a little oasis filled with love. A sanctuary for the soul. They are very generous and share the Balinese traditions and way of life. I was close to just canceling the rest of my holiday plans to stay there. It is very restful and peaceful in a rural setting with the local rice fields just a few minutes walk away. Chickens, cats and dogs roaming around and the cows from the neighbor welcoming you with a muuu. Wayans complementary evening meditations which can be enjoyed by anyone are the cherry on top...

It was first time in Bali and have been staying for 2 weeks in different places but I have to say that Sacred Canyon is by far the best acomodation.❤️ I had an amazing time there, the place it's very clean, peaceful, the location it's perfect if you love nature (very close to the rise fields). The place has a special energy which is hard to describe in words, I would definitely recommend it and for sure I will return for a longer stay. Special thanks to Synthia and all the stuff they are very attentive and sweet.🙏

The location outside of busy areas of Bali, the location up against the jungle and the heated (32-33 degrees!) pool. The botanical garden and the mini zoo! Last but not least the staff, which is the most important asset to the hotel!
