Rooms are clean, food is not bad, staff are helpful and will recommend good guides to Baliem trekking that so not charge you a fortune. Consider that if you book through agencies before arriving in Wamena, you get the same guides but at extortionate prices (maybe it's unavoidable if you visit during the festival...). Overall, if you are here for trekking , I suggest you stay at the hotel, despite the negatives below. Wamena is not a luxury retreat, so I doubt other places will be that better and bug free (you are in the middle of the jungle after all)

There aren’t enough words to say how wonderful this place is. As soon as I arrived, I was treated like family, and that feeling continued throughout my stay here. In the morning, they made a special breakfast just for me according to my preferences. The coffee was incredible, of course, and made the whole experience over-the-top amazing. There is no place else like it in Wamena, in Papua, or maybe even in the world! Highly recommend this to everyone.
