Kate does an amazing job of combining a phenomenal restaurant with a very chic boutique hotel. She has the formula just right: the room is clean and very high standard. The car park is convenient and secure. Breakfast is perfect and very well thought through.

The apartment is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Unfortunately we only stayed one night but it would be perfect for longer stays as it has a fully equipped kitchen and is in a great location for exploring the area.

    We had a evening meal at the restaurant and we could not fault it The food was well prepared and very tasty. But when it came to breakfast it was not so good The scrambled egg was tasteless The pan cakes looked and tasted like they were out of a packet

    We arrived late in the evening so didn’t see much but the next morning we drive round the island, seen some view points for photos, visited the dinosaur foot prints and had a lovely coffee and cake for breakfast at The Watch House.

    We enjoyed our few days on Valentia Island .

    We enjoyed our few days on Valentia Island . The house was lovely. We had lunch in the Hotel , great menu & The Watch House coffee shop we visited a few times aswell, amazing views , great place all round . Would love to go back

    Beautiful island with so much to offer and such lovely people and amazing fresh food especially in The Fishermans bar and restaurant I would definitely recommend going their ,ballinskelligs was a beautiful place to visit.

    Valentia Island is an incredibly beautiful place full

    Valentia Island is an incredibly beautiful place full of hstory. We had a great time exploring it and will happily come back at a different time of the year. A visit to the lighthouse is well worth it.

    So many little gems on Valentia Island, we visited the Cable...

    So many little gems on Valentia Island, we visited the Cable Station House and had the tour which was so interesting, we went on a nature walk nearby, we visited the slate quarry, Glanleam beach, we drove down to the lighthouse, the scenery is just beautiful, the Royal Hotel does gorgeous food, and the room was very comfortable and spacious, by accident we found the Geokaun mountain and cliff walk, which was spectacular as was the Bray head walk, Valentia Island is well worth a visit.

    Alan was an excellent host, the rooms were comfortable, food good, but best of all were the views which were absolutely stunning! I didn’t think I have ever stayed in a hotel with better, (and not forgetting a word for George the cat who was a very welcoming co-hosts).

    Very nice hotel. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Very good breakfast and dinner. Staff friendly Michelle was very friendly. They could do with a bit of music at night to keep people in the bar .We had a very enjoyable few days there 😊

    Wow, such a cool place to stay! The old stone cottage is over 200 years old so don’t expect a modern luxury hotel experience but rather a cozy, firelight, magical experience. Love our stay here, highly recommended

    Beautiful 18th century family home turned hotel nestled in a woodland area on the coast of Valentia Island. Two miles minute walk to a secluded beach. Jessica and Eoghan were such welcoming hosts.
