FAQs about hotels in Dublin

Great History, Greenery and Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green-spaces of any other European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College holds the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

Being one of the most youthful European cities, Dublin has a vibrant nightlife scene with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

The Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish holiday, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, a self-catering apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

So much to see and do, yes the pubs in Temple Bar area are expensive but the atmosphere is fantastic with such friendly people and great music. We visited the Guinness Storehouse and poured our own pint, we spent 3.5 hours in there, also did the Jameson Distillery tour, I didn't know I liked whisky until I went there. Going at Christmas time is magical as the city lights are fabulous. Very easy to get around on the bus or tram or if the weather's kind it's nice to walk along the river. Don't miss the Brazen Head which is so unusual with lots of little rooms, great food and music. Don't forget to find Molly Malone.

Great place to visit and check off a bucket list.

Great place to visit and check off a bucket list. Interesting history. 3 days was plenty to see the city of Dublin, however if you want to see other city/towns of Ireland, you could definitely stay longer. Must book for dinner on weekends as restaurants get booked out and pubs get completely packed like sardines, standing room only. Not a lot open early in the morning.

Dublin hop on hop off bus a must to get around, relativly all on the level so no large hills to climb. Killmainham Jail a must to visit, Temple bar great for night out young or old. O,Donahoes on Merrion sqaure found everyone so obilging and socialable. The home of the Dubliners! Grafton Street during the day another must. Dublin is a great city to visit just so full of history.

This is a little gem of a hotel in the centre of Dublin City Centre. Location perfect, room fabulous and spotlessly clean. The front of house staff were so friendly and helpful, we had a quick chat when checking in, telling them we were in Dublin for a show, when we came back to our room there were two little boxes of chocolates for us, with a note hoping we enjoyed our show, what a beautiful touch and much appreciated, Thank you.

Nice & clean hotel, with a comfy bed and all the amenities. We brought a car so parking was a big plus (although €13/day is pretty expensive). There’s a bus stop right outside that goes to the city centre which was pretty convenient. Dublin port was only a 20ish minute drive away. The only downside was the size of the room, the beds took up 80% of the space so there was no place to open suitcases without tripping over them.

The room was lovely and spacious; the location was walking distance to Dublin city centre which is why I chose the Belvedere hotel. The staff at the concierge desk was also very lovely; Carla was very helpful and the hotel is lucky to have an employee like her. She went above and beyond for all the guests including me, Thank you Clara. I can't wait to go back to the Belvedere hotel again.

Nice old style independent hotel in North Dublin. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. It's a mostly quiet location outside the city centre but easy to get to/from the city from there (loads of buses on Drumcondra Road or a 30 - 40 minute walk). I didn't eat in the restaurant but there's a nice bar that serves a good pint.

Location is good however it is off a side street and there were a few dodgy characters around the place - probably cannot be avoided in Dublin City Centre so it is not the hotel to blame, but i would not feel safe walking back to the hotel at night and there did not seem to be any security
