We had a wonderful time staying at Kilcar Lodge! Really nice and cosy rooms with the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in for a long time!! The host is so friendly and made us a huge vegetarian breakfast in the morning. The location is perfect, even though it’s located directly on the road it’s quiet at night!

A beautiful apartment, so cosy and comfortable. The view out over to sea from the living area is amazing . The host is so friendly and left us a welcome basket of goodies . The host was so kind to contact us to let us know we could check-out later than the usual time because of the snow . We loved the bedroom , a very good nights sleep . Puffin lodge exceeded our expectations. It was conveniently located about 15 mins from Slieve League, and 7 mins from the local town. Tin greeted us on arrival and provided us with a personalised handout including dining recommendations and ride times. All in all, highly recommend this stay.

This is a coastal area of great beauty. It is well situated to visit many of the outstanding areas of natural beauty which abound in County Donegal such as Killybegs town, Teilean pier, Sliabh League Cliffs and boat trips, Glencolumbcille, Malin Bhig and Silver Strand to name but a few. The local people display the lovely hospitality renowned in Ireland.

Kilcar is a very small town and as such there is nowhere to eat a main meal at night. It has an interesting local weaving mill that welcomes visitors to both shop and observe the products being made. The residents of Kilcar have created a very pretty community garden, right beside Kilcar Lodge. Kilcar is well positioned for visiting the spectacular Slieve League sea cliffs. It's an easy day trip to the beautiful Glengesh Pass (Ghleann Gheis), the white sands of Maghera Strand and Assarancagh Waterfall.

The scenery is fabulous and the beaches are stunning.

The scenery is fabulous and the beaches are stunning. If you like hill walking it is very suitable. The only drawback is the roads are very narrow so extra care is needed. The view from Muckross Head is amazing and a must on your stay in Kilcar.. It is not far from the secret waterfall and the fishing port of Killybegs where you can take a boat trip to the Slieve League cliffs which are spectacular. It is also near the picturesque Teelin harbour.

The location is a great base. Kilcar is about a 10min walk and you're in short driving distance of Killbegs, the cliffs and the beach. The little house itself is great. It's very new, clean and has all the amenities you would need. Nice touches like having oil, salt to cook with and tea and coffee. Hosts were very responsive and the house feels really homely.

The location is great with stunning views. A Traditional Irish thatched cottage located exactly on the Wild Atlantic Way. It is close to Slieve League, Killibegs, Kilcar and Muckross Head and several beautiful beaches. We enjoyed our homemade scones from Ann on our arrival. We definitely will be back visiting Ann and her wonderful cottage.

We only stayed the night to attend a wedding in Kilcar, the scene from the patio is incredible, Lovely clean house and facilities, only a 5min drive to the town and Geraldine was an excellent host and even gave us a lift into town and telling us a bit about the area. Would recommend if you're looking for a place to stay in the area

Host Teresa Molloy was exceptional. Very good breakfast included. By car close to Slieve League, the Silver Strand and good hotel dinner options The Rusty Mackerel and Carrick Hotel.
