Beautiful village. Fantastic walks and beaches nearby.

Beautiful village. Fantastic walks and beaches nearby. Locals were very friendly. Ate at the Fish Basket on Long Strand. Food was delicious. We go there everytime we visit Rosscarbery. Smugglers cove is fantastic for kids. So much to do there. Great day out. Rosscarbery is a perfect base for sightseeing around beautiful West Cork.

The owner, Margaret, is an extraordinary person who welcomes you with a smile and showers you with kindness, together with her husband Jim, a passionate supporter of Cork’s hurling team—a sport I had never even heard of until yesterday. The building is bright and very welcoming. Margaret also recommended another restaurant in the village, recently taken over by a delightful new ownership: delicious food, excellent prices—the “Goccia di Rugiada” (Dewdrop) is an absolute must-try.

Rosscabery is on the main road 1 hour outside of Cork.

Rosscabery is on the main road 1 hour outside of Cork. For the pennisulars bw Cork and Killarney you need your own transport. The Rosscabery Pennisular or finger has some spectacular beaches. From Bethel Guesthouse you have a sea view to Owenahincha area. Closest beaches are a five minute walk-Little Island Bay Beach. Warren Beach is a scenic Cliff Walk to reach. Long Strand is in the other direction but close. Bethel Guesthouse provided all I needed but their are amneties in the small village, a Spar — groceries & petrol near the highway exit.

Jim and Margaret are amazing hosts

Jim and Margaret are amazing hosts It was a great pleasure to stay in your magnificent house. In our opinion the word 5 star hotel would be more appropriate. Breakfast, instead of just a continental we were treated to Jim's special pear and strawberries, cheeses etc... In true Irish fashion that you both looked after all your guests needs and questions. Your great kindness shown to us was much appreciated and thank you for your helpfulness. All been well on our next visit to West Cork, Bethal House will be our first port of call.
